Closed on Mondays, which is just a bummer for a donut and coffee place - it was a rude awakening to say the least trying to walk in starting my workweek off with a coffee and donut. I get the staffing shortage but customers can't be held liable for precluding that in a review, I feel.
Besides, the atmosphere is unique and cool. Very neat theme. Donuts aren't exceptional but they're a unique flavor, original recipe and style, and quite large. $5.50 or so for one donut (7 flavors or so to choose from) and a medium drip.
The coffee from Ozo, a great local roaster of course, was cold when I ordered it. Real bummer. Also, I accidentally spilled a bit on the counter fumbling with payment and lids (as one does) but the staff member didn't offer to top off my drip coffee. I apologized as I probably should have for making a bit of a mess at the register but I was left with half a cup of cold coffee while paying and it was just kind of awkward.
I'll of course be back again because it's one of the only enjoyable social spheres in downtown Longmont, the vibes are fun, and it's not a chain. They also have a generous email campaign with free doughnuts. I think they're leading by example as to what this city wants and needs in a small young-adult attracting business.
In sum, awesome vibes and location, decent but unique doughnuts, cold coffee, awkward...
Read moreJust finished horking down my first Landline Donut and had to jump online immediately and tell you all to put down whatever you are doing and just go. The donut dough is freaking amazing. Tender with a perfectly fried little crunch on the outside. Part of the magic is that there are potatoes in the dough, but you would never know it, and apparently that keeps the donuts tender longer. Not that they'll last more than 2 minutes though. And the glaze...I devoured the triple berry just now and WOW so much flavor. Lastly: Many donuts are overly sweet to me. Not these. They're perfectly balanced.
We stopped in the first weekend they were open and they were sold out of donuts. So we had Dole Whips (YUM) instead. I don't understand the negativity around their operating hours and tendency to sell out. It's a new business, they're doing everything they can to serve their community an outstanding product.
Isn't it a GOOD sign when a product is so good, they can't keep it on their shelves?? Remember when Rosalee's opened, and they'd sell out all the time? It means the product/service/experience is fantastic and in high demand. When places like these are the best at what they do, selling out of an amazing product is a great problem for all of us to have. Support these wonderful...
Read moreThe donuts are very good and the vibe is cool but this place is literally never open for their full regular business hours. (Also, who has a donut shop and keeps it closed on Sundays??) The amount of times I've tried to go and they've closed early because they ran out of donuts⌠Make more donuts and donate the extras if you have them. And after a certain amount of time, you'll learn how many donuts you actually need to stay open your posted hours. It's just inventory management! Why are you so afraid to have extra donuts at the end of the day?? lol
updated: Landline wants to chat in person but when I go during normal hours when I am available...they are closed!! ahhhhh
also...a conversation in person? this is a REVIEW. i can say what i want in a review! it doesn't have to be a conversation. it's my review of my experiences so people can see what they are getting into. making it a conversation with the business in person makes it not a review where people are seeking out reviews!
also, just so everyone knows, they were out of donuts completely before...
