I got a tattoo from the lovely and talented Miss Serina Malec. The consultation was very easy and productive. I could tell she was very passionate and enthusiastic about the subject matter and tattooing in general.
When I arrived at the shop I could smell how clean it was. It really was outstanding. The general vibe was very relaxed and calm.
My piece took several sessions to complete. During that time I met almost all of the staff there. Shy, Carly, Tina, Avery, and Ramon (I didn't meet Shelby,) introduced themselves. They were all very polite and seemed genuinely interested in what each other was working on. Everyone was very kind and respectful and they all seem like good people. It was a very welcoming experience.
Throughout the actual tattooing process Serina was very cognizant of my needs. She always checked in to see if I needed a break, and was very accommodating in general. As I was being tattooed other members of the staff would swing by to see what she was working on and they were all very supportive and complimentary to me, as a customer, and to Serina as a fellow artist.
Serina also checked in with me during healing times to let me know if she had some surprise availability to work on my piece sooner than what we had booked so we could make adjustments to better accommodate each other's schedules.
The quality of the tattoo I received greatly exceeded my expectations. When I saw the design that she made for me I literally thought, "This can't be mine. This is too amazing. It's just incredible." I was honestly speechless. The linework is so clean and precise that it looks like it could have been a sticker or that she just magically rolled it on my skin. The colors are very bold and vibrant. She also incorporated some of my ideas from the consult into the piece. This made me fell very "heard" and respected as a client.
Overall I could not be happier with my experience here. I strongly encourage anyone interested in getting a tattoo here to go ahead and get the process started. You won't be...
Read moreAs of the writing of this post, the owner has not responded back to me on the tattoo that was reversed on the back of my right hand. I went to go get a tattoo from metamorphosis and not only did they not have me in the system, when the tattoo was done i saw it had been done in reverse, despite being given a reference photo. I was then told it was somehow my fault for not noticing and now my calls seemed to be being screened. If i should not hear back by the end of the day i will be getting a lawyer. Should the situation change i will either revise or delete this post.
Update: so far they have only offered to refund my initial tattoo cost and have said as of now that they wouldnt pay for the cost of their tattoo error in the form of laser removal, as i have no wish to get a cover up for what was to be an 8 year anniverary surprise.
Ive been advised by my lawyers to offer them a settlement offer, which i have this morning. Should metamorphosis, who tried to blame me for their error, choose not to take the offer, i would be having to take this court to settle their negligence. To say im beyond disappointed with both their service and profesionalism at this point is an understatement.
That being said, ill wait to hear what they have to say, and should they be amicable with the settlement, i will either amend or...
Read moreMetamorphosis is my favorite tattoo shop in the state! My spouse and I have gotten three tattoos each from three of their artists (one of mine if a big work in progress piece), and we love all of them! The whole crew is friendly and incredibly talented. Serina, the owner, has really built up a wonderful community that I feel lucky to engage with. Serina’s work is truly impressive and I am so excited to finish our work in progress. Avery did an incredible job with our wedding ring tattoos, and did the killer skull flash piece while Shy completed the first tattoo in my spouses cryptid kick-line, Moth ma’am. Avery’s flash work is fantastic and she was very flexible to make minor tweaks, I love seeing my skull so much. Shys work on the Moth Ma’am and Bigfoot aka Patty are seriously detailed and excellently colored. I always look forward to visiting the shop and seeing all the wonderful art in the gallery and I am so pumped to see what they do with their outdoor space! I can’t wait to get more work done at Metamorphosis! (I’ll post the big piece once the...
