Bad policies/lack of communication.
I pre-ordered and paid for a Piranha Plant amiibo as a surprise gift to my girlfriend around a week before going on a month-long vacation. Noticing that I would still be gone when the amiibo would be available for pickup I asked the Store Manager if my brother could pick it up for me. When I was informed that only I could pick it up, I asked the Store Manager if they could hold onto it until I returned on the 27th. I was assured that the store would hold it until the end of the month. After coming back from my vacation I entered the store to pick the amiibo up and was told that, while I was gone, they had changed their policy. As a result, they had switched my deadline from the end of the month to the 23rd. Unfortunately, as I had previously communicated to the Store Manager, I was still out of town and was uninformed of the change. They had given my amiibo to someone else.
I understand that policy changes are not the fault of individual stores or their employees. I was grateful that the Store Manager and I came to a compromise before my trip and was excited to surprise my girlfriend, but it was completely ruined by new policies and a broken guarantee.

Read moreWent to this Gamestop to pickup a game for $60 and clarified with the employee of the return policy and she let me know I can return the game after 7 days, her name was Kahlan i'm pretty sure, I clarified about two more times after that just to make sure that this was possible. I went back two days later to return the game and the store shut me down and wouldnt let me return it or anything except for trading in and I am not trading in a $60 game for about $15 two days later. The store manager was also passive agressive and I asked him clarifying questions on the return policy and asked him to show me where it states I cant do this and it took me about three times to ask him until he actually showed me instead of just telling me to read the policy.
