This is the last time I will review this place because it'll be the last time i step foot in this place. I really wanted them to be as good as they were the first year they were open but its been so inconsistent and when it has, its been bad. This last time... the Spring rolls were not fresh.. you can tell they were stored in the fridge. the wrap was cold and really hard to bite into and chew. The shrimp was really Shrimpy tasting.. like when shrimp starts to go bad. THe PHO... the noodles .. soggy. Like they were reheated in water .. almost to the point of mushy. The bean sprouts. .. looks like they were wilted and put in water and the water soaked INTO the sprout and now its a soggy wet mess. I cannot in my right mind give them any more or my money for subpar food. Get your act together. you used to be the best in Longmont!!!!!!
UPDATE: now its 1 star, why? I ordered Pho they forgot to bring out the fixin's for it, i did get halfway though my bowl when they finally canme over and when I asked about it they just shrugged their shoulders like "oh well" and walked away. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE! IT USED TO BE 5 STARS AND NOW ITS THE WORST PHO PLACE IN LONGMONT
Update: this place has gone downhill for sure. the last 4 times ive been in here there is either something missing, a hair in my food , a bad wonton or a halfassed serving (got a cup of wonton soup and there was maybe half a cup of broth) I will not be coming back for awhile. Its really disappointing as it used to be one of the best. Now its headed to one of the worst.
Update: why 3 stars? I would actually give it 3.5 if I could. Its pretty expensive compared to most Vietnamese places as well as the lack of cilantro/onions/green onions in the Pho and one time i got the wonton soup and one of the wontons i think was bad as it tasted so bad i had to spit it out.
The Pho is pretty good. They're really skimpy on the sliced onion, cilantro and green onions for some reason. Most places load it up for you. They have some of the best wonton soup. The Vietnamese spring rolls are pretty good. Ive had better but these are up there. The peanut dipping sauce however is excellent. The bun salads are very good as well. The fried...
Read moreFirst, I understand this is a new restaurant and will have some growing pains. That said, there's already some serious issues.
From the start, there is nobody to greet customers as they enter. With no sign telling guests to either seat themselves or somebody to greet them, there's a very long wait to even get a table because people aren't sure what to do. Staff walked by guests at the front door several times.
Once seated, we were seated at a dirty table. Our table had scraps of bean sprouts and a half consumed beer bottle. It looked like the waitresses were also responsible for bussing/cleaning tables, which brings up another point: hire dedicated staff to do specific tasks. Waiters/waitresses do service, cooks do the cooking, somebody should be assigned to clean tables, and so on. The restaurant seemed desperately understaffed.
We waited for about 15 minutes to even get menus and that was after I had to stand up and approach a waiter. Once we were finally noticed, the waiter didn't even bother to clean our table, he just sat menus on our dirty table and walked away. No water or anything.
We then sat there and waited, and waited, and waited. We gave them half an hour to try and take our order, but nobody came to our table.
We eventually got up and walked out. Staff didn't seem to notice or care at all. We didn't even get to try the food, but with service this poor I can't imagine it is anything special. We went to another Pho restaurant.
Looking at other guests, it looked like they were frustrated as well. There's also several reviews similar to this on Google and Yelp.
I hope somebody from this restaurant reads this and takes heed. I want to see this...
Read moreThis being my first visit here, I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived with a party of 4 and we were greeted by 2 waiters and seated rather promptly. Echoing some of the other reviews majority of the tables were dirty from the last service and another waiter had to clean off our table which she did promptly. Being a big fan of Vietnamese egg rolls I ordered them as my appetizer and they were very delicious and made fresh as they were very hot and still a little bubbling from the oil which also remained outside of them and didn't leak inside.
I ordered the rare steak and brisket adding filet mignon to my Pho. The food arrived fairly quickly from when we ordered and it was hot and prepared quickly. It was nice having a spindle of sauces and additions on the table to add in however we liked such as hoisin, sriracha, fish sauce, soy, etc. The broth itself was very good and light in flavor allowing the flavor of the meats and other additions (cilantro and lime) to shine through. I was very surprised by the freshness of the meat which did not taste old or cheap at all. It was really great.
Learning from past experiences I only got a medium as they tend to be on the large side, and the portions of this were perfect as I expected. Overall the food around the table was great with everyone getting a different combination of Pho and then prices were fairly decent in my opinion compared to some other places. I was expecting about $15 for the size I got, but it was only $10 which was great. Got a nice full meal with appetizer and a drink for $20. I will be coming back for sure to try some other dishes...
