Today I went in and there was a trainee working. While I'm in line, I hear a gentleman bark across the room, "meat on top," the overwhelmed trainee didn't understand what he was saying and just kept moving. As I got up to place my order, I suspected it would be a bit of a struggle. I give the new guy points for having a great attitude and really giving his best to try and make it work. It seems though that there is either a lack of thorough training or he was instructed to "not put too much" on each sandwich. I had to guide him through putting enough jalapenos, onions, peppers, and mayo on my sandwich. Light, regular, or heavy, make sure the entire sandwich is covered. We learn this at home making sandwiches. Again, grace for the new guy as I am pretty sure this is a training issue. I pay for my sandwich and then another girl comes up and attempts to ring me up again. The trainee tells her I've already paid and...wait for it..the owner (or manager) jokingly says "charge him again." It was a joke and lighthearted but after I got back to work, not so funny. My foot long spicy Italian was lighter than a 6 in. veggie sub. Seriously only had one layer of pepperoni and not even a full layer of salami. I can't usually eat the whole thing, but I did this time and am still hungry. The low rating is mostly because of this..... I called the store to let them know that they should probably hone in on the new guy's meat allotment training and they gave me a weak "sorry that happened," and didn't offer to fix it or anything. The service industry is tricky, especially for franchises because their costs are higher than locals and usually they are grasping for profits. I get it. Offer to resolve the issue for your customer though. I think the culture of cheap is shining here. I'm not a fan of any establishment that doesn't consider their customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been visiting subways as long as I can remember. Myself and a friend stopped in and had a new employee help us. She helped us alone the until more people showed up in line. As my sandwich sat getting colder and colder while the fantastic new employee with red hair, worked on my friends sandwich. Once some other people walked in is when I head a male voice say something, and apparently sent another woman outside to āhelpā. That woman in the raiders mask did not help fulfill either of our orders and then began to correct the red haired employee with a shirt reading āBOLDā, when she already realized her mistake. At that point I was than antagonized by the emoluments in the raiders mask. (Seemingly female, nice new white finger nails) she told me āyou can just leaveā and since we had our food and are filling our fountain drinks I replied āwe were already going toā. At which point the employee in the Raiders mask told me that I was the worst customer sheās ever had in her life. Being 27 and working through retail and hospitals throughout my working career, I wish I could have told her about the customers I have had. I simply told her āI am shocked and amazedā in response to that I wish no one else have to deal with her again. I praised her trainee for keeping a calm manner despite the aversions. 5 stars to her, 1 Star to the employee in the Raiders mask who was supposed to be training but instead...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe employees are this Subway are nice and the store is always clean. Unfortunately, the size of the meat portions is pitiful. I'm specifically referring to the new Subway brisket sandwich that is featured prominently on commercials. I would estimate the amount of meat put on my sandwich was 1/4 (seriously!) what was shown on the commercial. There was basically one thin layer of meat and a whole bunch of BBQ sauce to try to hide this. As my sandwich was being made the two employees said something to each other that I couldn't quite pick up, but I'm pretty sure they were discussing the pitiful portion size. The moment I saw the portion size I should have just said nope... and asked them to start over on something else. I didn't. I just took my bread and BBQ sauce sandwich back to work and said to myself...
