I'm continually amazed by the sheer grandeur of this store! It's an expansive haven for comic enthusiasts, easily dwarfing other comic outlets in the Orlando area ā it's like having multiple Coliseum of Comics stores all in one standalone location.
I've set up my PREVIEWSworld PULLBOX with them, and they consistently nail my orders spot-on while also honoring a discount on preorders. What sets them apart is their knack for suggesting complementary titles to add to your pulls. While these recommendations are spot-on, I'm only human and can't possibly keep up with all the enticing options they offer. If only I had more time to indulge!
Their treasure trove of back issues spans across Marvel, DC, and various indie comics, even tracing back to the nostalgic 80s era. I was blown away by their comprehensive collection. Not to forget the hidden gem ā a clearance section with $1 comics ranging from pristine near-mint conditions to charmingly weathered age-old comics.
To add to the delight, they boast an impressive array of toys, figures, and collectibles that are an absolute joy to peruse. It's heartening to witness a diverse crowd, from young kids sharing their favorite hero with their families, to dedicated Zenescope fans meticulously selecting comics with covers that resonate with them.
The staff here is wonderful. Always friendly, always approachable, and ever-willing to strike up a conversation about all things comics. Their passion shines through, creating an inviting atmosphere that welcomes both seasoned collectors and curious newcomers alike.
In a nutshell, this store is a haven crafted for comic enthusiasts. The combination of its sprawling layout, meticulous order execution, captivating suggestions, extensive range of classic editions, clearance discoveries, and a wealth of collectibles ā all fostered by the friendly staff ā results in an experience that's truly unbeatable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a slice of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to acme for almost 2 years and loved every moment as itās the closest āretroā collector store that is near me that has a wide variety of options. Iāve normally just purchased items from them but as a collector I love to support my local game stores (LGS) and Local comic stores (LCS) an had came across some extra valuable rare funko pops (one normally going for $45 and the other going for $50) I was inquiring about possibly selling to them (either cash but most likely store credit since I normally go here once or twice a week). Upon speaking to whom ever runs the buying of funko pops to the store I was immediately presented before even stating what pops they were that they apparently have a huge back stock and have too many to go through so they are only offering .50 cents a pop. Even after stating what kind of pops they are he just laughed and said it is what it is but are still willing to offer the price of .50 cents each. At which of course I turned down since that is literally robbery of your customers since all youāre going to do is sell it for its normal MSRP. Way to make a 8500% profit off your customers. My advice is if you donāt want to keep adding to your back stock maybe stop accepting funkos until itās all gone then when itās time to restock you can start accepting offers again. My only worry is when looking at the funkos that are behind the counter (which Iāve bought from) or even everything in the store how many people were screwed into a really poor deal (especially some that donāt know what they have or what they are doing). Despite this bad experience I still will come back to pop my head in once a while but Iāll probably never attempt to trade/sell here again. (Advice to all new sellers/traders please do your research before going to any lgsās and/or lcsās and donāt be afraid to say no and move on to the next store as which I did and got a better deal (a more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in for about an hour with my partner today - Easter Sunday - and browsed basically the whole store. We have only been in once before (many years ago), but I remembered it was a neat place, so we figured we'd stop by again. We each had specific books we were looking for - mine was the newest release Powerpuff Girl comic. I checked the areas I thought it would be (and found all the other issues poorly stacked together) but as the literal front of the store advertises, there's "1,000,000+ items". Most comic book places separate new releases from back stock, and unfortunately, I only came with 2 eyeballs installed, so I figured it was worth an ask in case I was missing it somewhere.
I took pictures and we saw some items we were considering coming back to purchase later, and I was fully going to give this place a 5 star review (despite the high prices). When we were ready to check out though, the person running the register (light hair, black ring, working register just before 11:30 am) was nice enough at first, until I simply told him I saw the other Powerpuff Girls comics but was just curious if they had the recent issue elsewhere. Instead of a simple "no that's the only place we keep them", he decides to pipe off with "they're all over there, I don't have a secret place I'm keeping them". I'm not sure if he just doesn't like women (he was sweet as pie to my male partner who checked out after me), or decided to take it out on me because he had to work a holiday, but either way it's completely unacceptable. The other employees were nice, but we will not be back.
I've been trying to find in-store shops to avoid buying from online retailers, but I'll stick to The Collective. Their prices are good and the items aren't coated in dust. I've only been once, but I'm pretty sure the employees won't spit rude little comments at you over...
