Allure — Attraction in Los Angeles

I lived in this apartment for more than 3 years. It is a nice apartment to live based on the rent what we pay compared to near by apartments. Everything was kind of ok and we didn't have much concerns. I had to move out due to my job change and thats when things started pathetic. For my bad luck, the property manager till that time had to go on PTO and a new manager joined. Since I stayed in two units, there were some miscalculation in my account and some amount was showing as due. I raised the concern on this amount, followed up multiple times (through phone, email initially due to COVID). Since I was not getting any positive feedback, I went to the office, asked for the full statement for both units, spent hours and hours to understand each amount and explained it to the manager. She listened everytime and give a statement that she will take care of it, no need to worry. Finally, when I put the notice to move on, I used to go to the office and try to get it sorted which she always rejected. She told it will be taken care during my final settlement which never happened. (More over she charged additional cleaning charges for an apartment where we lived only for 1 year and we repainted. I have no complaint on this, as I know nothing can be done). I had to call multiple times to talk to the manager (the Associate manager always connect), she picks up and talk unprofessional like she does not care, or does not the pick if it is my call. In another words, whole attitude and style of talking changed as I moved out. Finally, seeing my follow ups, Associate manager asked me about the issue and forwarded the issue to the Finance department (this was the only thing which the so called manager had to do). Though there were some confusion with the Finance person initially (as she was not aware of my findings in the statements), the way she dealt it was highly professional (proper response, and proper communication) and now they refunded me the amount which they overcharged me (I am not having any concern on overcharging, as this can happen to everyone). My only worry is for the Manager Catherine Clark, who was unprofessional (she had comments like she is in this business for years, then another one was since Alma (earlier manager) was taking care of all these, she is not responsible for whatever happened that time) very bad in responding. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. To start, the apartment building has been horribly mismanaged for years. The leasing office doesn't seem to have all the information they require ready and it takes forever for the to resolve one issue (and by then 3 more have cropped up). Next, the roaches and various pest problems are absolutely wild. The building has a serious pest problem they have not properly addressed and they tried to blame it on the tenants (which isn't correct), and there's no remediation service for it. A few years back it was bed bugs, and while that was treated in certain units, roaches are still very common.

I'm unsure if it was due to the fire they experienced and loads of people moving out, but it seems that we are receiving delayed utility bills and it's to the point where they would stack for a couple of months and now we have a large bill we need to pay upfront. On top of moving to paying rent on an online portal and the processor requiring convenience fees to process.

They are good to move in when you need somewhere fast, but I can't justify the rent spent on the apartment in...

I moved here on 2016 I have been living here for over two years now and I never had a problem whatsoever! Anything that needs to be fixed or done in my apartment I talk to Alma or Marisol and they always make sure to take care of it right away! I never had a problem with roaches or rats like some people had mentioned it in some of the reviews here I don’t know where that came from but I am really picky when it comes to those problems, I think it has a lot to do with the way we keep our apartment if we keep it clean we won’t have roaches problems! Everyone working here at the allure make sure we the tenants have a very clean and enjoyable environment, I am very comfortable with my neighbors, they are respectful and friendly the apartment complex is mostly quiet which you don’t get that lucky to live in a place like this! I am very pleased here and have no intentions to move out anytime soon. If you want a place to live comfortable and be able to relax in a quiet environment after work I really recommend The Allure Apartments!
