Boyle Heights Sports Center & Park — Attraction in Los Angeles

The park staff and community are amazing, the programs and events are always great. But the park itself is forgotten, it needs to be renovated, we need beautification. Although homelessness has been an issue city wide, we are forgetting about the most important people our kids. We need to bring more investment in our children and youth. The ambiance influences our children to attend certain places and the way this park is starting to look is not. This park needs our support and needs the city to put more into it. The field is nice but the community can’t use it. I was running laps around the gate and saw children kicking the ball around with their dad inside. I have an injured lower back and running on grass places less impact on my back and knees so I asked the kids how to get in. They told me the only way they can get in is by jumping the fence. These are kids of the community who don’t have easy access to this recreational area! They need to jump over a fence like they are criminals just to kick a ball around. Who ever is in charge of this recreational area is failing...

I went to this place with my grandchildren and went to the office and asked if my grandchildren could possibly play on the soccer field. The field was locked. And the man in the office said of course and opened up the field for us. I didn't get the gentlemans name but he was very nice and we really appreciated the opportunity to play on such a beautifully kept soccer field. I plan to go back to the office and get info on league play because my grandson...
