Chrissy Gonzalez's class is always great! She leads with humor and empathy and brings to every class her thorough knowledge of alignment, experience from her own dedicated practice, and keen awareness of her students so that the practice is always empowering and uplifting. She is an expert at crafting a sequence that builds with intention so that students benefit from a deeper physical understanding and experience of the practice.
Bianca's SmartFlow class is thoughtful and intelligent. Bianca guides the class expertly with a focus on movement that is healing and beneficial. She encourages curiosity as she leads students through a practice of personal exploration.
My 16-year old daughter and I both loved Infrared Pilates class. This class was so challenging in all the right ways - physically we worked our muscles and balance and mentally we challenged our determination as well as our cognitive reflexes. As a yoga teacher, it's easy to see how this class supports a strong yoga practice. Because it's an infrared class, it boosts immunity and calorie-burning, nourishes your muscles, and provides the benefit of full-body detox. Saori is an excellent teacher. She keeps the class light-hearted and fun and because she is so knowledgeable she is able to inspire her students to keep going - and keep coming back.
I very much enjoyed Keri's Level 1/2 Iyengar class! She had a very full class of varying levels of experience/ability, but her creativity and theme made the class applicable and engaging for all. She expertly alternated between articulating and demonstrating what she wanted her students to experience in the postures - and her explanations were clear and achievable. I found the class to be educational and both physically and mentally beneficial. A fantastic option for anyone looking to explore or deepen their understanding of Iyengar yoga.
This studio is beautiful and rooted in the history and philosophy of yoga. They have incredible teachers, offering a wide variety of yoga styles. The community is warm and welcoming. I also love the location in the beautiful Larchmont Village. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around for a post-class meal or cup of coffee. Parking is pretty easy, with plenty of meters on Larchmont Blvd., but there is also free residential parking one block in any direction, and it's a lovely area...
Read moreThe best yoga studio Iâve attended, and a hidden gem given its discrete location between a magazine stand and a coffee shop. There is something special about this place. While physically challenging, the classes are equally rich spiritually. The way the instructors lead and the level of mindfulness they bring into the classes seem to honor the yogic tradition in a way far unlike what youâll find in the watered down, Westernized Equinox versions of yoga. Youâll find diverse body types here, and a crew of instructors who are skilled at guiding a broad range of skill levels simultaneously in one class, without making either individual feel shortchanged in their practice. I get a weeklong pass here whenever I travel, and Iâve yet to take a class (probably taken close to 20 now) where an instructor doesnât come up to me afterwards to introduce themselves and thank me for coming. Anusha at the front desk is a gem, and if you have a chance to take a class with Zepure, she integrates Reiki into her Restoratives class, which was amazing. Youâre also in for a treat if you take Power Sculpt with Eduardo. Itâs like an intense workout while meditating. Never experienced anything like it. If youâre lucky enough to be local and become a member here, jump on it. This place is...
Read moreI found the posturesâ chronology (the flow) to be very thoughtful. Deborah Lee also thoughtfully educated that she saves head-stands till âafterâ we have commanded a four-arm or hand-stand balance in order to have control and be stable, as head-stands can affect and impact the cervical spine (the neck)âwhich is an astute observation. She is also a sublime inspiration by way of her own practice with striking and strong physical alignment. âMy issue is with the cramped space. While grateful I wasnât turned away because of over-capacityâŚthe limited real-estate definitely impinges on my practice. I am constantly having to navigate the welfare of my adjacent practitioners and so I never fully realize a pose, or stretch, or soften. It adds to my anxiety of not realizing my full expression in a posture, or in life. While that certainly could be a take-awayâand symbolic of lifeâs challengesâitâs not a teaching (life lesson) I seek as a daily practice. I really need to stretch my body without shortening to cactus-arms or having no room to flip my dog. So that upstairs room, while one of my favorite spaces, is something I will avoid in the future....
