I recently went to a Jessy Lanza concert at Don Quixote. Initially, I was quite surprised that out of all the venues in Los Angeles the concert was placed here. Before this concert, I had never even heard of this venue!
I'd be lying if I said that having to go to an unfamiliar venue wasn't going to influence my decision to buy concert tickets. However, I wasn't going to miss Jessy Lanza because of unfamiliarity with the venue or uninformative / negative google reviews.
That said.. I loved this venue and my concert experience! Every staff member I encountered was both friendly and chill. There was lots of parking! Not only does this venue have a well-lit parking lot right next door, but there's also ample (free) street parking on Olympic.
The sound was great. The temperature of the venue was comfortable. The bar ran quickly and smoothly. The bathrooms were clean. They even opened the doors right at 9pm. I can't tell you how many times I've been to a concert and the line was being held like 15+ minutes after the doors were supposed to open.
I'm so glad that I bypassed my assumptions about the venue and went to this concert. I hope to see more shows here in the near future. Thank you,...
Read moreI discourage anyone from working with this venue.
They do not focus on building partnerships and they are very stingy. They do not give promoters or the headliners complimentary bottle service. They charge for absolutely everything. I understand a business has to profit but this is not how you treat the promoter who is bringing clientele and sales revenue to the business. Out of all the venues I have worked for AND worked with in the DTLA and Hollywood area, this is the ONLY venue that does not provide complimentary service to the promoter and their artists. They even charge the artists (who are also bringing in revenue) and VIP guests to park in their lot. Please do better.
Security did a great job though. Kudos to the security staff. The gentlemen in the dreads/twists (I'm sorry I don't know his name) really took care of us...
Read moreI usually don’t give a one star review but I hope this way they can actually read it and make some changes we had an event this past weekend and we told the “DJ” to start plying certain music so we could start dancing and he kept telling us no because it was too early to start dancing when even the groom ask him to put songs to start dancing he keep saying that it was too early seriously??? We got to the hall at 4pm and we’re asking to put the music @ 6 and it was too early, what is that supposed to mean if the people that paid the hall are asking for certain music to be played In my opinion you have to do it, it wasn’t $100 dollars to rent the hall, you know how much you guys charge to have your personal there trained and to do a simple task like just changing boring music and put the music that we nicely ask...
