First and last time ever coming to this location no matter what they have in stock. Upon entrance one employee was rushing everyone in the section I was shopping in and made nobody feel welcomed. Luckily this employee wasn’t the one who actually helped me but he was constantly monitoring everyone’s actions within the section. This made me and I’m sure everyone else feel rushed when shopping, not allowing me to get everything I even wanted. That wasn’t even the worse part of my experinace sadly. Their security has absolutely no chill and doesn’t know how to act professional at all. After paying for my items and walking towards the exit, the cashier that helped me noticed she forgot to put one of the items I purchased in my bag. So she and a few other employees began calling for me to come back to the register to get the missing product. When attempting to do so the security guard got into my face and said “you can’t go back once you walk towards the exit .” Even though at least 3 other employees were screaming my name to come back he didn’t allow me to do so he continued standing in my way. Until finally an employee walked to the exit and handed me the forgotten product I was attempting to get. When I got my product I began trying to exit but the security guard was still extremely close to me barely giving me enough room to walk past the exit. This caused me to bump one of my merchandise items into the wall scratching it. After spending 1.3k there that day and having to go through all of that I’ll never shop there again. Yesterday I read their reviews and noticed their security is known for being super awkward and controlling but like anyone would think, “I don’t think that will happen with me.” But sure and behold it did haha, I wish I had a great experience because the store itself was super cool to see. I see why a lot of people go there, but after today I’ll pass. Maybe have your 1 rude employee and 1 rude security personal re watch the camera footage so they can learn what not to do. It happed today February 18th at around 11:50am till 12:15. I hope you guys never make another customer feel the way you made me because that...
Read more8/26 Gy-Su was AMAZING! She was extremely kind, patient, and accommodating. I’ve never had such a fabulous experience in a retail shop before. I tried on a lot of different items before making my decisions, which she had no problem with. She made helpful recommendations along the way and even brought us water!! The pasta and tea I had from the cafe were really good too!
9/8 Unfortunately, I was berated and humiliated by an associate named Vanessa today, when I needed to exchange items that no longer fit (as I’d rapidly put on weight within the past two weeks). Vanessa was extremely micro aggressive and condescending.
Two of the items I wanted to return were not in sellable condition according to her/DSM’s policy and judgement which I completely understood and had no problem with. When I asked for a bit of clarification (for future instances), Vanessa became extremely combative and accused me of previously wearing said items. Being one of very few Black shoppers there, this was extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable for me because it was simply not true. I assured her I only tried them on during my first visit and again at home, and that the wrinkles she saw in the pieces were from me taking them on and off. She for some reason assumed I was a wardrobe stylist(?), who only purchased things with the intention of returning them after use.
At this point I didn’t even have a problem with not being able to exchange the items for a different size. I was more hurt that she assumed I couldn’t afford to buy nice things for myself, and was the kind of person who scams shoppes by wearing/returning things after use. It’s one thing to consider an item un-sellable, I have no problem with that whatsoever, but Vanessa was completely out of line for the accusatory and micro aggrieved remarks she made toward me.
If you decide to shop at this location ask for Gy-Su! She’s extremely friendly and her professionalism...
Read moreEdgy, creative, fresh quality of high end clothing, shoes and accessories. It's a scene. The outdoor front is a white retail store with security (who I thought were doormen) located inside. Plenty of street curb parking. You have to walk through this retail boutique to get to their low key cafe called Rose Bakery. The cafe outdoor space had much white, my gf said it reminded her of Greece.
Be prepared to feel under-layered when entering Dover Street Market. Everyone seems to be wearing ten thousand layers here. I love the edgy and creative pieces in there! Super unique pieces. But its definitely not a place within my budget to splurge at. Undercover anit-mall feeling type of boutique store? The art and style of retail display to devor is alot of fun.
The restroom could be smelly as it didn't seem like there was ventilation when I visited it. The toilet paper was partially soaked? Not a very functional restroom with even it's faucet fixtures. I'm very surprised about the restrooms being only 2 genders.
This retail space is located across the street from Lot 613 where burner Halloween parties years back and when the art district didn't exist yet or at least...
