Very interesting place to visit. There's a tremendous amount of history in the cemetery. Buried here are a number of notable figures from all backgrounds and walks of life who played roles in the rich history and development of the Los Angeles area.
If you are interested in the internment / incarceration of Japanese-Americans during World War II, there are several notable names related to this Cemetery. David Ono has a documentary regarding the number of Japanese Americans soldiers buried here including those who served in the 100th/442nd, including 4 of whom are Medal of Honor recipients, including Sadao S. Munemori. Also interred here is supposedly Toyo Miyatake, who is well known for his photographic documentary of life within the Manzanar Internment camp.
The diversity within the cemetery reflects many of the ethnicities, cultures, religions, groups of people, and individuals that it took it to develop Los Angeles into the city it is today. Although the cemetery is not the glamorous landmark by any means, hopefully it can serve to remind us of where we've come from, the challenges those who have come before us had to overcome, helps to ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past, and that we move forward into the future as a stronger more...

Due to the lock down, I have been unable to water the grass around the two rows where my family is buried. The owners didn't water at all... I went today only to discover whoever mowed the weeds left a huge pile of weeds where grass is growing. I had to hand rake them so I...
Read moreI talked to the people there on the phone. They were very nonchalant and uncaring about the prices that they were charging, telling me they only had double plots, but we could bury our loved one and a double and still will be charged the double plot price. This price gouging is unbearable just to bury your loved ones. That is why I’m going to call the Better Business Bureau and report this place. And they say they have been doing this for the last two years. And for what because of when Covid hit? You were trying to rip honest, hard-working people who don’t have a lot of money to bury their loved ones and it...
