Kudos to Chef Mario Christernas for opening a new pizzeria in Boyle Heights during the pandemic. I have been hearing about this new place from a lot of friends. We finally took the time to pay a visit to this new restaurant.

I thought I was going to have Brooklyn style pizzas but the name of the restaurant meant the old street name of Brooklyn Ave before it became Chavez Ave. But the pizzas are as just good as the ones in New York.

The menu features dishes like mole pizzas and French fries in Chicano poutine and Chorizo, quest fresco, and cilantro. Although the food is Italian, the flavors are truly grounded to its Latino roots here in Boyle Heights.

You can also get the more traditional pizzas such as Margherita and a shrimp with vodka sauce. I liked the crust with the great chewiness sourdough taste.

I am glad that the restaurant opened for indoor dining. The decoration is awesome. With floor to ceiling windows, the indoor dining is very bright and full of energy. With its 100 year history as a former bakery shop, I am sure Brooklyn Ave. pizza Co. will live up to the former glory of this bakery shop. So far l love their pizzas.

Free parkings are available at the corner of Cesar Chavez and...

I made an online order for pizza and wings. I was witnessing my order being made when I saw one of your employees barehand my chicken and put it in the fryer. This part I have no problems with. What did bug me was that they made a salad right after and then bare hand parm cheese to that order. Wasn't my order. Then they prepped my wings. While all this happened the employee did not once washed their hands until I adviced supervisor. The supervisor then told the employee to wash their hands and remake the wings. They put a glove on and put more wings on the basket. As time passes the employee keeps playing with a towel and apron only to not wash their hands when haddling food again. I didn't have a problem here as long as they don't directly touch the food. The wings were finally in the togo box until they bare the damn herbs to sprits them on the wings. I readvise the supervisor of the situation only to be given atitude and be told a liar. I ultimately asked for a refund on the wings. If you need time frame to see on camera. March 22 2024 between 5pm to 5:30 pm. The employee had a...

Great spot for New York style pizza. They have classic pizza combos and some creative ones. We liked that they have agua frescas here. The guava-jamaica was our favorite.

We started with the caprese salad and chorizo gravy papas (thick fries). We didn’t know that the salad would be served with flatbread but it was delicious! The papas were seasoned with a cajun seasoning and paired nicely with the toppings. The portions of these were great!

We got a classic margherita pizza and their July special that comes with pastrami, honey mustard, pickled onions and cheese. Both were delicious, but we liked the July special one more as it was different than what we normally get at pizza spots.

Ended off the meal with creme brûlée and we were super stuffed at the end of the meal. We took home half of each pizza so we had lunch for the next day. Parking in the area is a bit difficult but worth it for the food here. Can’t wait to come back to try some of their other...

Welcome to Eastside Eats! In this edition we visit @brooklynavepco Chef Jorge Sandoval opened Brooklyn Avenue Pizza Company about five years ago with the goal of creating a neighborhood hub where people could come together for a good time over pizza. The menu features pizza, wings, salads and fries, along with a full bar. The restaurant also partners with The Paramount (@theparamountla) upstairs to support local music events. #eastsideeats #boyleheights
