Outstanding visit this morning! Our family made an impromptu trip to this hidden local gem. So much local history is just hidden along our coast. We were all taken by surprise by how engaging and how much there was to see.
Our tour guide gave us a personal tour of batteries Osgood and Farley. These 14" guns were responsible for coastal protection from enemy naval bombardment. Though the guns themselves have been long since removed, they give tours of the ammunition depot, radio room, plotting room, and generator room. So much of the equipment is maintained in a working state. Amazing and interesting place to visit. Thank you! And please be sure to support the museum...
