It is upside down... Okay, it is great that they turned it on for graduation, I was told it had been off for quite a while. A real piece of history at UCLA, I went to school there and it was a thing way back then not to touch the water or it would add a quarter to your time there.

Some people say it looks like a giant flushing toilet...perhaps from up high but to me it's just a functional fountain in that it doesn't splash me as I walk by or sit on the ledge to enjoy my lunch.

It's not in a super shaded region of campus but the surrounding buildings provide a bit of protection from too much direct light.

I wouldn't recommend putting my feet in but definitely a cute place to...

I remember when the Inverted Fountain was built. The problem was the windy days, so the architect made a fountain that was supposed to sound like a mountain stream running over rocks. On hot days we would get in to cool off. I mostly took off my socks and shoes and put my feet in. The administration didn't like us in the Fountain, so I suspect they made up the lie about...

A unique iconic landscape inside UCLA. Located just in front of the entrance to the Mathematics department. Has a soothing feel to it with relaxing sound of water flowing. Seating area is ample in the compound nearby including the paved wide walls of the fountain itself along with benches and stairs. Walkable distance from the botanical park on campus in...
