Powell Library at UCLA is a stunning and historic library that offers both an inspiring study environment and a glimpse into classic collegiate architecture. The building itself is a masterpiece, featuring beautiful Romanesque Revival design, high vaulted ceilings, and intricate details that make it one of the most visually impressive spots on campus. Beyond its aesthetics, Powell is a fantastic place for students and visitors alike. It provides a quiet yet welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of study spaces, reading rooms, and access to an extensive collection of books and academic resources. The library is well-maintained, and its staff is always helpful in guiding visitors or assisting with research needs. One of the highlights is the Night Powell program, which keeps the library open late for students looking for a productive and peaceful place to work. There are also group study rooms and tech-equipped areas, making it a versatile space for different study preferences. The only downside can be the crowd—during peak times, it can get quite busy, and finding a good study spot might take some patience. However, the atmosphere is always motivating, and it remains a top choice for anyone looking for a great place to study or explore on the UCLA campus. Overall, Powell Library is not just a study space; it’s a cultural and historical landmark that reflects the academic spirit of UCLA. Highly recommended for students, book lovers, and history enthusiasts!

very kawaii. check it out for video games, comics, and lots of great literature. As for studying, the reading desks with light do not have power, but most of the desks do by the floorside. Printing and internet is offered for those with Bruincards. You will see random people you haven't talked to in years and chat a little with them too sometimes. Reserve books are here but I still haven't figured out how to use the scanner so I just walk over to another library and use the scanner....

Unique and Antique!

I probably wouldn’t study in this library, but the atmosphere of the library is like jumping in a time machine to a library a few hundred years ago with different types of art and architecture in its interior.

If you are an art lover or someone who loves architecture, this is the place for you. If you want to study, I wouldn’t recommend it. People are always talking, walking and disturbing so it’s not a quiet...
