A slightly more direct way to get up to Griffith Observatory from Los Feliz by foot as opposed to taking Fern Dell or Vermont canyon. It connects to a few other staircases to get to the top, including one with a nice tile mosaic wall. Beautiful views from the neighborhood at the top, including of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous Ennis house. There are benches at the bottom and halfway up, and wonderful bougainvillea flower tunnels along the way. The steps themselves are small, so it can make for an awkward run up or down if you’re looking for a workout. Fine if you’re walking and can be careful! Also there are reports of a flasher who hangs out on these steps, so uh watch out for that

If you are tired of your exercise rounds on hiking trails and gyms and beaches then head to Los Feliz...in particular the Los Fliz steps and the surrounding area. You can stroll through leisurely to let the winding ascents of the streets deliver you an increased heart rate with bountiful views of the City, the Rich and the Famous. For more rigorous undisturbed exercise you can take a brisk run. Parton the lanes off of Los Feliz and use the maps to guide you to Los Feliz steps. Then you can chart your own path, eventually all roads will lead you back to Los Feliz Blvd.

This thoroughfare will lead you up to the road that takes you to Ennis House and if you follow it, it will take you to a back entrance to a trail that leads to Griffith Observatory.
