I started off my dinner with a drink that was recommended to me by my server called The Amanda. It’s a serrano and cilantro infused vodka with lime, pineapple, and sugar. I can say that I have never tasted anything like this drink before. The serrano and cilantro really stand out in this drink and it’s actually delicious. I did not think I would like a drink that has pepper flavors in it but this was actually refreshing and the citrus in it really complimented the Serrano and cilantro.
Next I tried the crispy Brussels for my appetizer. I can’t say that they came out crispy, but I can say that this was the all star of the night. The Thai flavors coming out of this dish was phenomenal. The onions, carrots, cabbage, and mint really complimented this Brussels dish so well. Huge fan.
My main course was the crispy chicken sando and it was good! The breading on the chicken was perfectly crispy, the remoulade was absolutely killer, and the Brie cheese was a nice fancy touch to the sandwich. I can’t say I was too crazy about the pickled celery but it didn’t take away from the sandwich too much. Was this the fanciest chicken sandwich I’ve had? Yes. Was it the best I’ve had? Unfortunately no, but still a good chicken sandwich!
The service was very fast and efficient, my server was very sweet and informative about everything I had asked her. I definitely love the atmosphere inside. it’s very wide open, but still intimate and it really does have a camp Messhall vibe when you look around.
Will absolutely be back to try their brunch and...
Read moreWe got reservations for 8 and were seated on the patio. Our server was really kind, super patient and helpful, and cracked jokes with us — all around really fun! We ordered a bunch, of course, but some highlights were the French toast. My kid couldn’t get enough of it. He would have licked the plate if I’d have let him! One of us had the Cobb salad and she said “I was almost regretting my choice to get a salad but then it ended up being the best Cobb salad I have ever had!” So, glowing review there. Another at the table ordered the car cafe burger and was definitely happy with it! And a couple of us ordered the standard — eggs were cooked to perfection, the fruit selection was excellent, and the potatoes. My goodness, those potatoes. Run, don’t walk to try them. I’m gonna be thinking about those often. Plenty of food to go around, and prices were fair for the quality! The only bummer (for me, perhaps not as much for others) is that they do allow dogs on the patio. There was some barking involved and overall it’s just not my favorite to have pets in a food establishment. I’m not knocking off an overall star though, the food...
Read moreSome of the best eggs I've had in LA. Quick seating we walked up during packed brunch hours and seated in less than 10 minutes. I think perhaps poorly planned ambiance As the tired bushes which guard the patio and shape half its wall are loitered with spider and cob webs. The outdoor seating area (which we were not asked inside or out) is swarming with flies and has a unsanitary amount of dust and debris in the air. Our waitress was extremely polite and well spoken and this was the first time someone offered to not charge me for a dish outright when it was served not as I ordered. That being said as someone else mentioned the dishes are very hit or miss. My Belgium waffle had a decent flavor but was no bigger than the largest eggo waffle stacked two high. My wife's Benedict she ranked in her bottom 5. I have personally seen her eat more than 80 different Benedict's in the last year so I dont think we will be back. If your going for drinks and don't mind any sort of temperature, or dust, or insects in your environment then it's...
