I should have just gone to Del Taco. Service here is terrible. I don't know what happened to this place. I have lived in the neighborhood for over a decade, and I remember how this place had a mom pop shop vibe to it. Came in this morning greeted with no acknowledgment, I was literally the 3rd person in the place this morning. I didn't get lost in the crowd like some shrinking violet. I came in made eye contact and got nothing. I didn't want to be pushy because maybe they were still opening up. However, if you open at 7 you should be ready to serve by 7. (I was a server for over 10 years. I know that side of the counter.)
It took someone skipping in front of me and me correcting them for someone to maybe start greeting and serving customers. When I finally got service, it was cold and maximum MINIMUM. Asked for a favor of Aluminum foil to wrap my burrito, "No I can't" OK um wax paper? "NO we don't have those, just boxes." Guys, this is the only restaurant on the planet without wax paper or aluminum foil. While paying, the server literally turned his back on me, I started to ask him about paying on their POS, and he just finished my transaction for me without asking to help. This dude "FRANKly" didn't want to be there, obviously. How are you THIS OVER the day when we are 7 minutes into your shift my guy?
Food came up to the counter he walked by it 4 times then decided to finally notice it and hand me my $19.00 breakfast burrito. The burrito was not a $19 burrito. It was not filling as a stand alone and had no sides, just medium burrito with sauces for $19. The burrito did have good flavor, although it was salty. I honestly would have had a happier morning going to Del Taco on Sunset getting a steak and egg burrito and a breakfast roller and would have had a much better start to my day. They (Del Taco) at least smile and it would have cost...
Read moreThe restaurant is really quaint and small. The decor is like a French cafe on the streets of Paris with inside and patio seating. You order before you find your seat. We ordered the breakfast burrito, the traditional breakfast plate, and chicken pesto panini. They were all really good and big portions. The burrito can be spilt between two people if you're not that hungry. The traditional breakfast plate had eggs, bacon, potatoes, a croissant, and a crepe. The orange juice was deliciously fresh squeezed orange juice. Lemonade is fresh, too. Highly recommend, probably would come often if I lived in the area. The main street has meter parking, but the side residents' streets are hourly parking, but I believe Sundays are free. They don't have their own parking lot, so it's all street parking. They also have complimentary ice water, which is always nice. That way, you dont have to bother the staff, you just get up and get it yourself; especially during this hot summer time.
Friendly staff and very fast service. The employees quickly picked up and cleaned tables, served people and addressed any concerns/questions in a timely fashion.
The inside seating isn't that big, but there is also patio seating. Also, it's a little pricey, but portions are big, and it's 2023. Everything is expensive now. What can you expect. We got 3 plates and 3 drinks about $70 and some change.
I forgot to take pictures of my food because I was so hungry, but it...
Read moreSmall cafe with more seats around the corner. Excellent food. Service is good and you get your food pretty quickly. Pretty competitive pricing compared to other brunch/cafe spots. It's all street parking but didn't have trouble finding a spot on a Saturday at noon. Just be aware it's mostly metered parking.
I ordered the crossiant breakfast and it was fantastic. Every detail of the sandwich was done well. The crossiant was buttery and crispy. The bacon was crispy and oh so tender. The right amount of mayo is used and the eggs are cooked to perfection. I enjoyed every bite of the sandwich and it was a pretty large portion as well.
The cakes and pies they made here looked delicious as well. Can really see everything was fresh. Their bathroom is located next to the kitchen, so you can take a look at their whole process. They really do make their things from scratch, and you can tell from the taste of their food. Be aware that it's mainly Armenian chefs in the back, so it can be a bit of a heavy meal, which can be a reason why the food was a so good.
Really enjoyed my lunch here. Definitely coming back if I'm around the area or finishing a hike at...
