This Michaels location leaves alot to be desired. I went in there to buy a few packs of the 6x6 multicolored paper pads and theyre apparently the only location who doesnt carry them. And theyre also the only michaels location (within L.A county at least) who doesn't carry Seed Beads. Of any kind! Well, except these packs of 4 tubes thaf are marketed for melting into litle metal shapes, but i make jewelry so i need a uniform, clean and professional looking seed bead supply and those packs have rough, missshapen, jenky looking beads inside😔 so they wont cut it unfortunately. My other complaint is the manager who ive seen every time im in there, and i go every other week, roughly. On friday early evenings. Hes hispanic, late 50's maybe, and i get the impression hes a manager i dont know for sure. But every time i turn around hes there. If i change an asile, hes there. If i go to the restroom when im done i walk out and hes right outside the door. When i head to the front, guess who more times than not ends up being my cashier? That guy... i dont know if hes trying to watch me, i dont believe i look like id be taking things, i never have in the past and havent ever really planned on it in the future, im polite and always spend my hard earned cash when i come in so i dont quite get why he feels the need to follow me, and its pretty creepy and uncomfortable so it makes me not really want to come back and go back to the location on olympic and sawtelle. I wish it werent like that and i could shop and spend my money in peace at this one cause its so much closer but its really not worth the experience. Really is unfortunate when one employee ruins a stores atmosphere when all the other associates were great. But one bad apple can always...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience with Michael’s custom framing service. We paid $300 for a custom frame with matting, and the entire process was a nightmare. When I went to pick up the order, they couldn’t find it anywhere in their system despite me providing every possible name and phone number. After waiting 30 minutes, they took a note for the person who worked on the order (who wasn’t there that day). The next day, we spent another 30 minutes on the phone for the same person to figure out where our order was, only to discover it had been put under the wrong name. When my boyfriend finally picked it up and brought it home, the frame was poorly done. The print had fallen inside the frame, revealing the white cardboard behind it, and the clamps on the back of the frame weren’t even secured properly, and there wasn’t any coverage on the back to hide the cardboard. For $300, this level of service and quality is unacceptable. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration—go elsewhere for...
Read moreFree parking in the upper lot shared with Target. Easy to find, easy in + out. Nice, big location. Never crowded, unlike their Pasadena location. I like their Paint Dept depth of selection on paint + accessories, from cheap to expensive. Kids can find what they need as well as the serious artist. Tons of pre-stretched blank canvases too. All the other usual stuff here too like silk floral, beads + jewelry accessories, framing supplies, scrap booking, kid crafts, fabric paints, crafting tools + adhesives, etc. What I DON'T like is their inflated prices for some commonly available items. You'll pay for not shopping around. But with a careful eye out for prices, u can do ok. And if u really need something and you're willing to pay for it, you will love Michael's. Where else can u run to + find these things in a pinch up to 9pm?! Customize...
