Ten Thousand Waves Tattoo Gallery — Attraction in Los Angeles

Eureka! My new Tattoo Studio. First and foremost, I stumbled into this place while walking because the energy pulled me in. Their decor, art and aesthetic is meditative and creative, it simply pulled me in. Anyway, I’ve wanted to cover up my first tattoo for over 10 years. It was a fairly large oddly shaped tattoo with saturated black parts and because most artists like to cover dark tattoos with saturated black, I was very picky with who I’d choose for this great feat, enter Ten Thousand Waves. As soon as I walked in my intuition said “this is where you’ll get it covered”. I was greeted by Diego, who would be my cover up artist. He has really great energy and I just knew when we started discussing my cover up that “this is my artist”. So I left a deposit and scheduled my appt for 3 weeks out. Today I got my work done and not only is Diego fast but he’s really good! You can’t even tell that there was a tattoo underneath this. He pulled off a magic trick I didn’t think I could have a tattoo I’d like to cover the tattoo and he gave me something I didn’t have to settle for. That’s art you guys. I can’t express how pleasing it is to be happy with your cover up tattoo. 18 years of regret covered with a beautiful lotus. I have to also send shouts of love to the rest of the staff. Everyone has great energy, I was served coffee in a ceramic mug and offered monster green tea. I was so happy with the experience that I feel I can safely say “I found my shop here in Los Angeles.” If you’re looking for a studio to get some ink I highly recommend Ten Thousand...

JoJo, Robert, Mike and the entire team at Ten Thousand Waves are complete masters of their crafts, to put it lightly. I wish I could give them 10 stars on this review, because what they’ve created at their shop is far more than a place to get a tattoo. They honor their art through amazing talent and work of course, but what brings us back time after time is their authenticity as people, and their cohesive team of wonderful humans that truly feels like family. I’ve experienced dozens of shops over the years collecting tattoos, and this shop is hands-down the best experience I’ve had to date. They are fairly priced (a rare thing in LA) and maybe even slightly underpriced in my opinion for the quality and decades of experience they bring to the table. I have been a patron of Ten Thousand Waves for three years now, and the shop has an incredible team of artists that are highly skilled in multiple avenues of the tattooing culture and tradition. The shop itself is very much an art gallery full of great work for artists within the shop and worlds over. Coming to the shop to get work done is very much an experience in itself that is very much ritualistic in an artistic manner, you can feel the tradition in the studio. With that being said JoJo is my artist and is a true master of his craft and continues to pay homage to artists that past the craft down to him, the man has a certain respect of the art and tradition and is great to collaborate with when it comes to getting work done.
