My husband had foot surgery 6 days ago and was in a cast and on crutches but we couldn’t miss the Greta Van Fleet show tonight so we went. First, when we parked in the stacked parking and got out, the parking attendant asked us to get back in our car and helped us park in the very front for easier ADA access. There are a ridiculous amount of stairs just to enter however, right away we were directed to the ramp and the elevator. We got off the elevator to find the line to sit going all the way back down the stairs. A gentleman in a Securitas outfit stood next to my husband and my husband asked, so do I now have to go back down the stairs to wait in line? He said unfortunately yes. Then a Ford staff member named Daisy took care of us all the way. She let us in before anyone else so that we could find a seat without having to wait in line on the stairs. We ended up in the front row for my sons first concert. After the show, Daisy found us and helped us get to the ADA cart area so that my husband could ride down the hill back to our car. Thank you Ford for having the absolute friendliest and helpful staff and for giving my family an...
Read moreParked and shuttled from the Universal Metro station. Easy as can be - that being said we were one of the first to arrive.
Great / beautiful venue. There are quite a bit of stairs to get to the main area but it's not that bad. Once in the main area, there is an elevator you can take to the top where the stage is.
Sufficient seating for picnicking before the show starts. Because most people bring in their own food and drink, the lines for food and beverage are not that long.
Every seat in the house is a good seat. The only compliant I have about the show I attended is the sound. Sound was very low and the mix wasn't very good. Everything sounded dull is the only way I can describe it.
I would also suggest that you leave your show a bit early to make shuttling back to your lot easier. The parking lot is very small, so if there are lots of people leaving at once, I could see how things could get confusing.
Other than that, i would go back for the experience. Much easier than the Hollywood Bowl and much...
Read moreGreat outdoor venue to see a show. The size is much smaller than neighboring open theater spaces but still draws in full crowds. Despitie the small size, there is still great seating options at the venue. The seats are auditorium style seats so you may have to stand up to make room for people shuffling past you. Better to arrive early by a few hours if you'd like to picnic before your show, otherwise the lines can get really long closer to the showtime. There is a security checkpoint at the ticket entrance. Parking options are onsite or from other nearby paid lots that have shuttles waiting. From Ovation Hollywood parking, you can follow the same shuttle signage for Hollywood Bowl attendees; employees will direct you to the correct Ford Ampitheater shuttle. It is not recommended to park onsite because it is stacked parking which means everyone has to be leaving at the end of the show in order to get out of the parking area; however this is still an option to consider if you arrive hours early...
