Location is everything! Absolutely stunning winery itself. And rich history! Wine was perfect! Their red selection is big and of great quality.
Now bringing me to my two stars. My partner and I decided to treat my sister for her birthday. We made reservations for wine tasting in advance. We arrived the day of the reservations and were greeted and directed to the wine tasting area. We sat down at the table we were told and waited a couple minutes until a woman came over to let us know she would be bringing out glasses to begin the wine tasting. She proceeded to make a couple rounds and check on other tables and left again. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes just waiting... Not sure if she had forgotten about us but she eventually came around to serve us. Once our wine tasting finally began she checked up on us a handful of times. We found ourselves just sitting there waiting around for the next pour. Thankfully the gentleman serving water was attentive. There were two particular occasions where we noticed our server make a comment about the price of the wine stating “this one’s on the pricier side”. We brushed this off thinking we may be overthinking the situation at hand since we didn’t feel like she wanted to be serving us. Staff made it very clear to us that the wine tasting area closed at 7 so we made sure to keep this in mind. Once we were getting ready to move we decided to purchase 5 different wines, when we informed the server about this and she proceeded to confirm with us if we wanted two of a certain kind of wine since that one was on “the pricier side”. I at this point was pretty upset but my husband just navigated that conversation with the server. We took our wines and moved over to the wine bar area. The gentleman who helped us out there was great very attentive and very welcoming. Ultimately the first interaction we had at the wine tasting area was so unpleasant that we decided not to become members. Pricing was very clearly displayed on the menu so it was very distasteful on the servers part to question if we were sure we wanted the bottles we asked for...

Testarossa for the win! My wife and I (mostly her) have traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and abroad to visit vineyards or attend tastings. Saying this to say, we know a little about quality wine. We stumbled upon this vineyard while we were in California for a wedding. On an free day prior to the wedding, I was in charge of finding and booking tastings for us (mostly her). I had three tastings lined up for the day and Testarossa was stop #1. I read all the reviews to make a reservation so we did (and highly recommend). We decided on the tour (also highly recommended). It was raining that day, but the sun peeked out for about 7.4 seconds so we optimistically kept the reservation hoping for better weather. The rain continued - c'est la vie. But thankfully, we met our guide, Missy Elliot (not the rapper). She was/is the most knowledgeable, personable, amiable tour guide we ever met. She braved the elements for us, snuck in a few well timed anecdotes, and knew the history of the vineyard as if she lived there. She made Testarossa feel like family. The place was amazing and the wine was fantastic! The nicknames for the silos were hilarious. We sipped, lost track of time, and bought 4-6 bottles of their fine wine. Cannot remember specific amount due to the copious amounts of alcohol in our system. I accidentally broke a wine class and Missy was quick to come with a spray bottle that removed all traces out of my tan shirt. Testarossa is a gem and kudos to them for hiring Missy. She was the bright spot on a rainy day. Needless to say we didn't make it to our next destinations. After the tour, we headed to their patio for a snack. In my humble opinion, Testarossa is better than some of those pretentious vineyards to the north. Do yourself a favor, add them to your travel plans, you won't be...
Read moreIt was my second time here and it started off uncomfortable. My aunt has been a long time member and invited us to do wine tasting. We were in town for the Easter holiday. There were five of us tasting under her membership; we figured it would be a non issue considering we were ready to spend money for a lot of wine (only 4 can taste for free under someone's membership). Greg the "lead" pourer was extremely rude and insisted we needed to pay for the fifth tasting. We didn't even get a chance to tell him our plan was to buy wine which would ultimately wave the tasting fee. He was aggressive pushy and terribly rude. We ended up having to walk away because he was getting too hostile for our taste. As we were leaving we ran into Linda. We told her about our horrible encounter with Greg, and she made it up to us. She had the best customer service. Was extremely knowledgeable on the wine, and introduced Ryan to us who was equally as amazing. We were able to taste some fabulous wines. During that process GREG came back and stared us down angrily. Which was terribly uncomfortable. My only word for him is BULLY. Please do not let him pour your wine, he'll destroy your experience. You need to look for Linda! She actually should be the "lead". She was awesome and turned our experience from horrendous to amazing. She's a real class act, and because of her we will definitely be back. Needless to say we left buying over $300 worth of wonderful wine...So this five star rating is a shout out to Linda and Ryan! Thank you for changing our experience. Greg gets a...
