I had such a great experience having Jaz as my stylist! Before moving to the Bay, I had been seeing the same stylist in Portland, OR for the past 10 years. I was nervous about finding someone new but after having such great communication with the team here and reviewing other salons, I decided to go with this salon!
I first met Jaz when I scheduled a free consultation in October. I showed her photos of what I was looking for and she gave me wonderful tips/advice and was honest about what she could or could not do in a single appointment. My hair was very brassy blonde with crispy/dry ends (literally felt like a scarecrow) and I was looking to go more bronde with a fresh cut. In addition, I had a lot of breakage from prior hair dyes that Jaz was very mindful of. Jaz let me know that we likely couldn’t do 100% what I wanted (in a single visit) based on my inspo photos but she’d fix up/improve my current hair and get us closer to the end goal.
In November, I got my hair redone and it looked absolutely amazing! I thought she was just going to fix up my hair (which she did) but, honestly, it looks very close to what I was originally wanting from my inspo photos. I was so impressed with her skills! On top of that, she was very careful with the breakage I currently have and made sure to not damage my hair further. Jaz is very kind, gentle, and super sweet/compassionate! She would patiently answer so many of my technical questions and I felt very confident in her abilities. Services today included face-framing highlights, re-toning, and a fresh haircut which totaled to about ~$350 for 4.5 hours of service. Price is very reasonable, especially for the level of detail Jaz did with my hair! I’m very happy with my new hair and feel even happier I’ve found my new stylist in the Bay. Honestly felt like a new person walking out of the salon today. Jaz is amazing and everyone should...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel I need to share it.
I accidentally booked with “Jaz” thinking she was someone else (Jazmin). When I arrived, I realized the mistake and told her so, but also showed her a photo of the haircut I wanted and asked if she could do it. She said yes.
She spent over two hours cutting my hair. The final result wasn’t terrible overall, but the style in the photo included bangs. I could tell she was nervous working on that part, and I asked her to stop — but by then, it was already cut too short. From there, the situation became uncomfortable.
She brought another stylist over to help, but instead of including me in the conversation, they talked about my hair like I wasn’t even sitting there. I had to speak up and ask them to talk to me directly. The second stylist eventually asked if I came in with bangs (I didn’t), which made it clear they had made a mistake.
Then, Jaz started speaking to me in Spanish, while speaking English to the other stylist. I told her I speak English just fine, but she continued anyway. When I asked why, she said she needed to practice her Spanish — while I was paying for a service.
That was really frustrating and unprofessional. I wasn’t there to be someone’s language practice partner. I was paying for a haircut and a respectful experience, and I didn’t get either.
My bangs look strange, and while the rest of the haircut isn’t terrible, the experience overall was stressful and disappointing. It felt like neither stylist respected me as a client, and at times, the second stylist acted like I wasn’t even present — which felt not only rude but borderline discriminatory.
I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously. Professionalism, communication, and respect are just as important as cutting skills. This experience made me question how people are trained...
Read moreI visited the studio for a bob cut, and while the hairstylist was very pleasant, I was disappointed with the service. I was left in front of the AC at the washing station with wet hair for about five minutes as she attended to another client. This unfortunately led to a stye in my eye. Additionally, the length of the cut wasn't double-checked before cutting, resulting in a shorter bob than I wanted, which was upsetting. She also didn’t check if my bangs were even until I asked. Throughout the cut, I was asked many personal questions, which I felt uncomfortable discussing with a stranger. Overall, the experience was underwhelming.
A few days later, after washing and straightening my curly-styled hair, I noticed uneven patches sticking out in several places. I contacted the salon to resolve the issue, mentioning I was out of town for a wedding and needed it fixed elsewhere. I suggested a partial refund since I had to pay another salon to correct the cut. The salon offered for me to return to the same stylist, disregarding the fact that I was out of town and needed it fixed before the wedding. Even if I were in town, I wouldn't feel comfortable returning to the same stylist, worried that my hair might end up even shorter.
When I pay over $130 for a haircut at a premium salon, I expect excellent service and a perfect cut. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive either, and there was no satisfactory resolution offered by the salon. I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone, as I’m left with a short, uneven cut that I have to pay to fix elsewhere. That’s very unfortunate, as I really...
