Not a bad hike. Found a close parking spot easily. You can smell the trees and wild flowers, and get some good cardio done with the uphill. However, other aspects affected my experience: 1) The ever-present traffic noise from the highway. Forget about listening to the sounds of nature 2) Too crowded. The path is not wide so between cyclists speeding past, many other hikers and people taking their dogs for a stroll (and occasionally throwing the poop bags into the bushes), it's not a place for those who seek a quiet & relaxing time in the forest. Read moreNote - from Mar 2019 a lot of trees down/storm damage on some parts of trail. Still open and hike able. This is a great point to start a variety of hikes from easy to fairly difficult. Only downside is how close it is to freeway so you get a lot of noise in this part of the trail. Once you go further in you can reach a few different trail options to take you away.
