Not a bad hike. Found a close parking spot easily. You can smell the trees and wild flowers, and get some good cardio done with the uphill. However, other aspects affected my experience: 1) The ever-present traffic noise from the highway. Forget about listening to the sounds of nature 2) Too crowded. The path is not wide so between cyclists speeding past, many other hikers and people taking their dogs for a stroll (and occasionally throwing the poop bags into the bushes), it's not a place for those who seek a quiet & relaxing time in the forest. It's ok for a convenient morning hike, given its location. Always pleasant to see the beautiful Los Gatos.

Jones, Novitiate, Range, and Manzanita Trail Moderate trails have manzanita trees which have attractive wood and grow into twisted trees about 15 feet tall. The bark on the long, crooked branches is reddish. Should go back for a spring day hike for the flowers and a summer day hike to look at the fruits.

Beautiful place, it's nice that different trail finish in the same place. So you can go different days and enjoying the little forest. There is a beautiful sight of the reservoir. It's a hike recommended to do with children!

Note - from Mar 2019 a lot of trees down/storm damage on some parts of trail. Still open and hike able. This is a great point to start a variety of hikes from easy to fairly difficult. Only downside is how close it is to freeway so you get a lot of noise in this part of the trail. Once you go further in you can reach a few different trail options to take you away. Some ride bikes on the gravel part of trail on freeway side of the creek. The other side of the creek is for people & leashed pets only, has more tree cover, and is more like a forest trail. But either side of the creek will take you to...

Park here on the street for quick trail access; no official parking lot, so it's good for during the week whenever there is only 2 hour parking. My reviews are popular with over 8000 views, so you'll want to take me seriously here. I don't have any followers, though. Final points: this is modestly demanding hiking when going to the summit of St. Joseph's Hill. Bring water in the heat. There can be many mountain bicyclists on the trail...
