The place hit the mark for awesome Indian food (which sadly is hard to find in bay area, plenty of Indian places, but good ones, ahem!!) Thats why the 5 stars. They were fairly busy when we got there and have their tables is separate with plexi glass. They dont have a lot of room, but they were gracious to accommodate us in the patio next door and got everything set up very quickly! Brajesh who was our server was awesome and took great care of us, even though they were short staffed and were really busy! There was another guy Ayush who also was amazing and made sure we were comfortable. So just for their customer service they receive top points! Now to the food, here are the top picks: 1- The Seabass Tikka from the clay oven was a big HIT with the family! it was polished off in no time, so could not get any pictures. 5 stars! 2- The Malai kofta - delicious. Malai Kofta is like a paneer based dumpling swimming in a creamy cashew based tomato sauce. Its a bit like Butter Chicken/ CTM sauce. 5 stars for that too for vegetarians 3- CTM- Again the family loved it and polished it off in no time. 5 stars 4- Paneer Tikka from Clay Oven- this one I would say the least spectacular and was just meh. Not bad if you are looking for a paneer fix, but not the best. 4 stars 5- Now to the Naans, the butter and garlic naans were fresh and delish. But the STAR was Cheese Kulcha!! Highly highly recommend. 5 stars.
Do check out this place for great...
Read moreThis has to be one of the best indian food I have had in the Bay Area and believe me I have tried a lot. Came here kind of unplanned and it was awesome to see all the good reviews and ratings lived up to their expectations.
It’s a small space inside but lot of options outside for seating. Definitely it can be packed during warmer days with the outdoor seating. We got lucky as we came at the time when only couple tables were occupied inside. Within a few mins all the rest of the tables got filled inside as well. We ordered the Tandoori non veg platter, Shaahi Paneer, garlic naan, Fried rice (for my kid) and ras malai.
The Tandoori platter is one of the best I have ever had. All the meats were cooked to perfection. Nothing was too chewy or overcooked or dry. Everything was tender and had the perfect texture and blended well with the flavors. Honestly I was very satisfied with this and wasn’t too indulgent with the paneer :), but my husband loved the paneer as well. We finally ended with some Ras Malai and it was delicious and creamy and completed the meal very well.
I also have to call out how nice the staff was. In a lot of places, staff can be very disinterested with their customer and do their job, but despite being super busy, all staff members had a smile on, greeted us and checked up on us very well.
This is our new favorite indian restaurant and I am already...
Read moreWe dined here on Fri evening, and had high hopes based on positive reviews. The restaurant was quite busy so we had to wait for about 15-20 min (they don't take reservations, apparently). We requested to be seated outside but were told that there were others waiting to be seated outside. There were at least 2 vacant tables outside the whole time we were there, but looked as if they did not have enough staff to clear the tables after previous diners. We asked out server again, but were given the same answer. We were seated in a hot & cramped cubby hole at the front of the restaurant (it is a small restaurant) with no air conditioning to speak of. The food was pretty decent (regular Indian fare), but being in a cramped space, eating spicy Indian food, and sweating the whole time did not make for an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant appeared to be popular for takeout and perhaps that's where they are focused, but the service was chaotic and loud. It appears they do not have sufficient wait staff to cover a busy evening. The 3 stars are for the food and location, but there are so many better restaurants in downtown LG and much better Indian restaurants in...
