Made the mistake of thinking I could utilize the FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY to sort through and prepare some very important paperwork. Literally all 5 of the tables they had were taken. So I went back up to the front and sat at the one empty table I seen. Immediately I'm asked "Ma'am...are you in high-school " I reply...."Obviously not" She says "oh...well this is for teens only."
The area was completely empty as all the teens were on the other side using the computers. I said "It's the only available table here...if someone comes I'll get up." Needles to say....I was denied access to an open and unoccupied space in the FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY because "It's policy" Well why are there people sitting at the tables on their phones or just sitting there doing nothing? If it's policy that it's a specific area for a specific group or function then apply that same specification throughout the entire establishment. Tables with chairs should only be for ppl doing paperwork or on a laptop not sitting there doodling on a phone when there's clearly open chairs around for just sitting. If adults can't be in teen section then the teens shouldn't be allowed in the general population of the library as well. It's ridiculous....of all my years of going to The FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY never have I ever been told where not to sit nor not accommodated for that fact. It's a ton of kids in there right now because it's fall break but they can be all throughout but I can't. And it's my tax dollars paying these employees who were less considerate nor accommodating. Now I have to Google a whole...

She started loud talking my daughter about how much money to put in the printer and to hurry up and get her change! I was just speaking so highly of this library, now I feel totally...
