Foodies everywhere depends on review sites like this one for unbiased opinions about restaurants. I am appalled by the BS on this web page. Let me retract my steps to explain why.
I planned on visiting Vietnam Kitchen because of the rave reviews on Yelp. While looking for directions to Vietnam Kitchen, I was surprised by the amount of one/two stars reviews it received on the Google. This was completely opposite of the reviews I found on Yelp. When I scrolled down, I found another Vietnam restaurant only 0.7 miles North with all 5 star reviews. I almost decided to visit Annie Cafe instead until I get a gut feeling that something is not right. With a little investigative work by clicking on user names of the reviewers like yoko20_20 , amac898989 , annabellaernice , and adambrown2030 I found out they all share something in common. They only left 2 reviews in their entire user history: one 5 star review on Annie Cafe and one bad review of Vietnam Kitchen. The other reviews are all anonymous or only have 1 review in their user history. From this, I conclude these reviews are BS and not an actual reflection of the food at Annie Cafe.
I can't say for sure either restaurant has a hand in this, however, I would not trust these reviews...
Read moreStarted out to go to a Vietnamese restaurant, looked up the reviews for the one we were intending for, a couple of people raved about Annie's Cafe, we thought ok let's try here, we found the place and I kind of wish we did not, the selections are limited to what other Vietnamese restaurants offer, flavor lacking?, there really was no flavor, the food was very bland, we ordered a nice quantity, variety, of food, the table was filled, we had to remind the waiter of at least 3 dishes we did not receive, and I kind of wished we did not, ordered a bowl of beef pho, looked nice. But it was missing beef, we told the waiter who looked at me strangely, then went and looked at the ticket, he looked up and said, oh, yes, I did write down beef, when a bowl of meat came out.even though it was in a broth it was dry. I tried one.piece and then no more, we had to remind on other dishes, overall I would not go back. Would not recommend this restaurant may have been the talk at one time but that was then this is now. No recommendation from this diner, a...
Read moreAnnie’s Café is what happens when food and vibes get married and invite only the chillest people to the wedding. It’s small, dimly lit, and peacefully quiet—aka the perfect eating environment if your brain, like mine, gets overwhelmed by noise, chaos, or people breathing too loud.
I went here for my birthday and split a few dishes with my wife, and honestly? Even with my usual texture issues (which are 100% my brain’s fault, not the food’s), everything was incredible. You can taste the love in every bite—probably because it’s cooked by the owner and her boyfriend.
I’ve never been to Vietnam, but this feels like the closest I’ll get to a real home-cooked Vietnamese meal without a passport. And shoutout to the guy working who told me they’d happily adjust dishes for my texture sensitivity next time—absolute legend.
Whether you’re neurodivergent, picky, or just someone who likes food that hits like a hug from someone who actually gets you, Annie’s Café is 100%...
