Avonlea Jewelers — Attraction in Lumberton

My wife bought a crucifix in 2018 at Christmas. Last year, 2020, one of the 5 lacquered inlays dropped off, followed a few weeks later by a second. When I took the jewelery back to be repaired I was told it would be better that it be replaced since lacquer inlays frequently fall off(!!) with frequent cleaning (it has never been cleaned).

He then offered to sell me a replacement at full price less 10% (because I returned to my home and retrieved the receipt which they had been unable to find). He offered NO credit for the original crucifix, since, he stated, my wife had not purchased a warranty (she said she wasn't offered that option).

I told him I never heard of jewelry wearing out unless it had moving parts. His answer? That's our policy.

Beware when buying there. I believe this is devious...

Avonlea is a wonderful jewelry store for fine jewelry. It is beautiful inside, and they are adhering to strict covid-19 cleanliness recommendations.

They are pricey, however this is fine jewelry, and Lumberton is always more expensive.

I got proposed to yesterday and I took my ring back to the original jeweler and they wanted to take 3 weeks to work on it. I dropped it off and took my lunch to really think about it and do some research. I am a local here in Lumberton and decided to look at a few places closer to home. This was the first store to pop up! I called ASAP, Ms. Shelly answered and said that it could be looked at and possibly ready within an hour! I rushed over an hour before they closed and they sized me, ran my ring to the back and got it done. I waited inside and even purchased 2 silicone bands for my fiancé and I. The service was amazing, the hospitality was amazing, and the overall experience was unforgettable. We will be going back and using them as our permanent...
