Nice touristy and even long term residents live here. You can rent the some of the beach houses that are literally a stones throw from Lake Erie. The Pier is wide enough so people can keep distance. People come to the pier to fish and some of the people are SERIOUS ANGLERS. I've never seen such tackle or the organized tackle "boxes". The beach part isnt very extensive but don't let that fool you. People come here to swim. You'll see barges not close up but you'll know it's a barge headed for the Port of Toledo. All kinds of boating. People pick up the shells, feed the seagulls, theres a small swing set, two picnic tables a couple porta potties that are well maintained! You do have to pay for parking...I think it's like maybe a dollar for 2 hrs...its something inexpensive but Police officers will check to see if your ticket is in your windshield. So pay to park. Theres 2 parking lots. Theres a boardwalk. Because of covid 19 the...
Read moreWished I could give this no stars. My wife and I have just moved here from the Gulf Coast of Alabama We have been to beaches from Virginia Florida Alabama Mississippi Texas and Louisianan and we have never seen a so-called Beach much less a tourist attraction so nasty and unhealthy 20 dead fish in the first 20 yards of beach front half of them have been there probably at least a month rotted to the Bone you can smell it as soon as you walked onto the sand You would think for the $4 an hour they charged to park there they could have paid somebody to pick up the freaking fish We will never go there again and if you are smart do not ever let your children play on that Beach it is probably full of maggots from all of the dead fish that has been washed ashore for months A...
Read moreMostly spend time here in the summer, but during the recent spring storms and lake flooding, I decided to stop and check out Lake Erie. The winds had blown here all of the way over the Pier and beach. The entrance to both was closed off for safety reasons, but the area stillm offered an amazing up close view of the power of Lake Erie. During the summer months, when the waters are calmer Luna Pier is a nice, clean beach with warm shallow waters. The pier is nice to walk out on to enjoy the warm, evening lake breezes. They have public restrooms, a rinse off area, picnic benches and a nearby park with playground equipment. It costs a fee to park, due to limited parking but is well worth it, especially if you are looking for a summer staycation...
