Pier Inn — Hotel in Luna Pier

I have stayed at this location off and on for years since it was built brand new. originally the owners / manager took treemendous care of the property. I am how I ever disappointed to say that if the same people on this particular property they have really let the condition go. the outside of the building is filthy the condition of the landscaping has been let go so long that there is practically nothing but weeds. when I pulled into the property at 21:00 hours none of the security lights were on in the truck parking area I noticed only one light in the parking area for cars. inside the lobby was fairly clean and the desk clerk seemed Pleasant. I had to asked for a first floor room but was told there were none available. this would not normally bother me but the parking lot outside was practically empty. he put me in a second floor room, on my way to the elevator I noticed the swimming pool was closed as was the men's public restroom the hallways weren't particulate clean and the inside of the elevator is in need of a new paint job do to graffiti carved into the door. when I arrived at my room and open the door to my surprise the lights for on in the room had not been cleaned at all. I know these things occasionally happen but right outside of the elevator Sat the maid's cart which would lead one to believe they are not done cleaning on that floor, but this late at night seemed odd. I went back to the front desk to get a different room and the desk clerk just started going on about hiring a new maid and she had not been fully trained yet.. well I think training is the least of her problem. when I got to the next room I was given the door had been propped open I went in and it appeared to be cleaned however there was no shampoo, the bathroom Linens had been shorted eg. only one wash rag one hand towel and 2 bath towels upon closer inspection all of which were stained up enough that a person would tend to question how well the room was really clean.This super 8 will not be one that I stay in again very soon. it is a shame the super 8 franchise has chosen to do business with foreigners that do not really think of clean the same way we do. this has only gone to refresh the memories of a bad experience that I had a few years ago at a super 8 property owned by the same nationality. it is a shame but I know there are hundreds of people out there who feel the same as I do about the quality the super 8 motel chain. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke, which is crazy for a SMOKE FREE BUILDING. There is no staff, you push 0 when you walk in to get someone to the desk and wait around until they decide to show. We had a blood stain on our pillow (not pictured!, the black stains are something else I found when I stripped the bed before we left), the room was dirty, the tiling wasn’t sealed down on the window seal, no locks or screens on 2nd story windows (PARENTS BEWARE!!!), plug ins by the bed didn’t work, the blinding parking lot lights make sleeping impossible with the shades being too small for the window. For nearly $80 a night, you can definitely do better. Will never stay again. Most uncomfortable beds I believe we’ve ever slept on. Good luck getting housekeeping to clean your room. We hung the service requested sign, left for 4 hours and room was exactly as we left it. You’re better off sleeping in your car. If we could’ve gotten our money back we would have left the day...

When checking in the entire front of the motel was covered with bugs. The only employee was outside smoking, but did come in immediately to assist us. Check in was fast. The room was clean, but the desk chair was ripped down the back and half broken. A drawer was broken and the front was just shoved inside the drawer. The bed was clean, free of bugs, but when you laid on the bed the sheets immediately came off of the mattress. Passed by the pool on the way to our room. The pool area was filthy and the pool had a film of something all over the water. Would think twice about booking a room at any Super 8.
