I am both amused and irritated by the paid parking permit enforced year round. This is especially frustrating for locals who live right outside the city of LP. I understand it is a profit driven policy but all it does is annoy most people enough to not come back - especially if they don't see the signs or know its enforced 365 days a year - and get a ticket. Why do we need a parking permit in the winter to take photos of frozen water or geese? The pier is neat. The beach is polluted, dirty and like most of Lake Erie smells pretty awful. There isn't anything at The Pier to equate to paying for a trip to fish, bird watch or walk. The "lighthouse" looks cool but is small and not worth a special trip if you're from...

Con: minimum parking is at least an hour for $4 There are crazy amount of some kinda water bugs with wings. You can also see them on nearby houses, parking pay stations, and on the piers. It almost reminds you of a swarm of locust but a less intense version of that. My friend hates any kind of bugs so it was tough to get in.

Pro: Really really quiet and peaceful. It's far from being overcrowded and populated. Youre not bombarded with human "noises" that youd typically get at a popular beach. It's a good place to drop by for a one time at the least and walk...

Cost $8 to park here for 4 hours. Came here during the weekday. Only a few other groups of people so beach was not crowded. Found it very peaceful and great to get away for a few hours. Around later afternoon it did begin to get crowded with other family's with their kids. We had a picnic and grateful there is a small store down the road where we could buy some things we forgot. Will definitely look forward to going here again
