Where is the customer service at???
I had to ask myself that today and an associate of Midwest guns, whose name I found out was Noel. After coming to the range for over 16 months straight, I see that I do not exist. Forget that I purchased my first firearm 04/2022 and have faithly used the range at least twice a month since then with my younger brother. Forget that we have encouraged the likes of other friends and co workers to utilize the facility and enjoy some of the features of the range and the variety of firearms and accessories.
BUT TODAY I wanted to see the difference between the Canik T9 Elite SC and the Canik Mete MC 9mm and as I came to approach the glass case where that brand was there, I watched NOEL close the glass case and he walked away. He didn't acknowledge us standing to the right of him, nor did he ask us if we needed any assitance before he walked off. He just left, and walked all the way to the south door in the range upstairs. I then walked in that direction to question why he didn't ask if we needed any assistance before he left and his reply, was I didn't see you. How do you not see me when I am standing right next to the glass case as you are closing another case literally 6 inches away from you. You are working in a firearm store and yet you (NOEL) can not look to your right or left to see if anyone needs your assistance before you exit??? UNACCEPTABLE on every level.
I my mind thats not customer service that's ignorance and the owner of this establishment needs to be ashamed of how many times actions like this can cause people to not return nor patronize this business. Its not about the top salesperson its about delivering on the promise as a business, provide proper use and training of firearms to individuals with the correct documentation.
I give respect to Brain (The sales person who sold me and my brother our first firearms); Raine (Always polite and courteous at the cash register), Rich (always the downstairs cashier and informative about promotions of the location), Raul (always there with Rich and another person polite and courteous on operating the firearms whenever we have concerns)! It is because of these individuals, not the likes of Noel that we have patronized this establishment.
If you are worried about sales over your customer service issues, than your business is doomed. Proper customer service brings sales and your repeat business through word of mouth. What do you think...
Read moreI'm going 100% honest with the people because I like being honest with everyone, people need to know the truth, I don't sugar coat things. One time I went to Midwest Guns & pistol range in Lyons to try and rent a gun and shoot some rounds, well when I went inside i saw an employee he looked like in his 50th's or 60 and I showed him my foid and i told him that I wanted to rent a gun and shoot some rounds for 1 hr and right away he looked at me mad, gave me a really bad attitude and told me " i dont care if you have your foid" "you can't rent a gun" "you have to come with some that owns their own gun to be able to use the shooting range" I was like I been to some other ranges with my brother and they didn't ask me that I couldn't rent a gun and that I needed to own my own gun to use the shooting range. After I told this employee this he just got more mad and kept giving me a really bad attitude. Honestly I felt like this guy was being kinda racist and was just trying to give me a hard time. At other ranges I didn't have this problem , that I couldn't use the shooting range if I didn't own my own gun or that I couldn't rent a gun. This was the first time I heard that about a shooting range. Well I ended leaving that place. My message to the owner: Honestly you need to watch out with your employee or I don't even know if this old guy is the owner but honestly he shouldn't be disrespectful with the customers because remember you guys make your money from customers, from customers buying your guns, ammo, gear, etc. If you guys don't have customers you guys don't make money so you guys need to fix these issues with the bad attitude with your employee honestly. If you guys dont fix these issues then customers are not going to want to go this place anymore and keep loosing business to other shooting ranges that will treat their customers way better. You guys will loose ratings and money honestly. All this employee could've done is showed me some respect and told me in a good way the reason why i couldn't use the shooting range and I would've being like "ok" "I understand". Honestly I don't recommend Midwest guns & pistol range in Lyons. If you don't want to be disrespected don't go to this place honestly. But one thing forsure I will always be honest...

Having returned for further service with Midwest I must say that my experience with them was severely tarnished. Since my initial visit I was consistently met with hostility and rudeness from the MALE employees there, just the males. The women at this establishment are professional, courteous, attentive and kind. The men on the other hand are some of the rudest individuals I have ever experienced in customer service. I don't know what it is, maybe they all have tough guy complexes because they work at a gun store? I don't know and I don't really care. I signed up for a CCL class a few weeks back, it had to be rescheduled a week or so ago and they had to change my date, so yesterday I called to confirm my class for today because I was unsure of the rescheduled date, when I asked to guy who answered he proceeded to laugh at me and say "well weren't you the one who scheduled the class?" that's when I explained I was just calling to confirm the dates, he without checking anything told me that yes the class was still on for 9 AM today and to show up 15 mins early. SO today I drive to an hour to Midwest in rush hour traffic, a snow storm and on my day off to find out that the guy on the phone was just too lazy to check that there WASN'T a CCL class today. Needless to say I was quite frustrated. Is this how you treat customers that have spent thousands with you? What if I had been new to guns? This experience would have completely turned me off to them permanently if I hadn't had prior experience and knowledge. Seems to me this place is in serious need of a gun clerk overhaul because the men in there need a major attitude adjustment, check yourselves guys, I promise you aren't as tough without that 1911 on your hip. Needless to say I will NEVER be returning here again, there are far better facilities out there in the general area and they treat you with dignity and respect like you should be treated. If I could give 0 stars I would, absolute joke of an...
