Such a great place! Skate park is huge and staff is super super friendly. Family oriented, but still cool for most everyone.
These people are all about the sport and hobby of skate boarding. Obviously in michigan, not so much on the surfing, but lots of surf boarding stuff.
Rollerblades, roller skates, skooters and longboards are also very prominent in the store and in the in door park.
There is a parents room with some sound isolation and wifi available, which is nice to take a break from the skate park.
The store attendant made a huge point to help my son pick out his new board and spent 15 minutes searching the building for a limited edition board that we thought for sure would not be available! He then helped hand pick trucks, bearings, wheels, and THEN dug through new inventory for a special Star Wars; The Mandalorian grip tape that my son went NUTS for!
I'm so happy with this place, I have nothing but the best things to say, thank you so much for out of towner's feeling at home and getting the help with a some what...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a great park. While sometimes it can be really busy and overwhelming, typically it's not too terrible and it being so spacious makes it less of an issue. The staff is very helpful, and I love that the environment there doesn't make roller skaters feel uncomfortable like some parks do. They have a great shop, which has so many things for roller skaters that most parks don't. They sell boots, plates, wheels, toe stops, you name it! They will also take the time to help you replace bearings and wheels, and can do mounting services as well. It can be a little dusty, but with a park that size and the amount of skaters that visit it isn't unbearably dirty and they clean it at least weekly from what I've seen. Vending machines offer cold drinks while you're skating, and pre-COVID they sold pizza slices if you got hungry. (Not sure if they're doing that still due to COVID.) I wish this park was closer to home for me, but it's worth the two hour drive. It can be a bit expensive, but is worth it when you consider the amount of skate...
ย ย ย Read moreI went here to inline skate in February. Im from Florida. My fav skatepark. I learned to soul grind down ledges here. The short beginner ledges are perfect for that. Every one here is friendly. Skaters and staff. Met many friendly bladers, skaters and that guy one wheeling too. A guy working there changed my skateboards bushings for free. I forgot his name but Thanks. Going here made my week. Great valentines gift for a lonely girl like me lol
I had a question, is the materials used to build this park from the Orlando Vans skatepark that closed in 2012? I used to skate there (Im from Orlando). I saw the Vans logos on the wood. It was neat to feel like I was skating the same ramps as Vans. Itd be neat to know the ramps went there.
Edit: reply to owner's response: The mall still exists afaik but I found that the skatepark indoors area was completely erased and filled with appliances the new owner was storing :(. But the outdoors section still exists I believe. I don't know tho because I found this information a...
