Tenney Lock & Dam — Attraction in Madison

I found it very nice place to visit. I was able to keep a close Eye on the kids while enjoying a little fishing. I know Idea there was so much to do there. Didn't get to experience the entire park, Everything we got to was enjoyable fun and clean. Nice raked beach. That starts out at 0 feet and gradually is deeper not sure how deep it goes. However estimate it is roughly 40 yds. By 50 yards out in to the water, all Enclosed with a net so while swimming yoy won't run into any aquatic life. Very nice in my opinion. A beautiful public park bordered by lake Mendota and the Yahara river, with a pond, a couple shelters, playgrounds and a locks system for boats to move from Mendota to the Yahara. Great in any season - except when the pond and river growth gets so thick that the smell is overpowering. So, on hot, humid days, be cautious. It was pretty packed, no place to park.. driving around in circles. I used to come here as a child and feed the ducks with my dad… there wasn’t so many trees/bushes/shrubs; now there everywhere . You can barley look at the water without walking over the bushes. Pretty nice place to go on a weekend evening. Not when it’s so packed....
