5 stars for Taco Tuesday. I have tried all 5 varieties and would recommend the chorizo, the al pastor, and the chicken. The asada would have been better if they hadn't overcooked the steak, so I will try it again and hope for the best. The cecina just didn't seem conducive to my taste buds, but I might give it another shot, too. As far as the tamales, I have tried the pork and the cheese. Unfortunately, the masa of the pork one had a very funny (and not good) taste. I think the lard they used was rancid (that kinda concerns me), but I didn't get sick. I would give the pork tamale another shot because I think that was an outlier and it would be much better, and would like to try the chicken. The cheese one I tried was decent, but definitely nowhere near the "best tamales" claims I am seeing in the reviews. I have tried tamales from about 10 different places in Madison, and sadly I would have to say they would probably rank at number 9 (and that is ignoring the bad pork tamal I had). Unfortunately, the number one spot (by far) doesn't do them by the dozen anymore, so I won't name them (and I wouldn't anyways because they quit doing tamales because they were way too popular). I really want to try other items on the menu, but I have seen the portion sizes and for the price they just don't seem like a great deal. The people I know that have ordered other items have said they were really good, but agreed with me on the portion issue. Just hoping the tamales are better next time I go and I can retract what I posted about them, because the service I have received has always been friendly (unlike some other Mexican establishments that I won't name here).

Update: Went for taco Tuesday and it was good like every time before. Also gave the pork tamale another try and it was much better. I must have gotten a bad one...

Fifth time here and I still think it's one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around the entire metro area. Parking out front is easy to access and handicap parking makes it accessible to those in need. They have out-door seating for those that wish to enjoy the outdoors. I’ve had the steak platter, pork tacos, tamales, mole, and couple other dishes, all f them have been the best flavor and generous portions. The tacos are gigantic, you will love them!!! The steak was pretty good and cooked to perfection, not much fat but still plenty of taste for your taste buds. The horchata had the right amount of flavor, not overpowered and super sugary. Wish they had larger cups as once filled with ice there is not much liquid in the cup, either way this was probable the best horchata I have had in Madison!!! Taco Tuesday has 1.50 tacos (pretty sure) and on Thursdays they have tamale special, you must try the tamales at all costs, they are so good. They have a few options for salsa, from mild to wild and the chips are warm so I enjoyed some chips and salsa prior to my main dish being delivered There is a high school on the same block and when school is in session they tend to come here and it gets way full. Not much the owner can do but the parking lot was filthy, seems like some of those customers they have just eat and throw their trash on the floor in the patio area, the wind blows it around and makes the area look trashy,

Very worth checking it out and enjoy some authentic...

Scrumptious authentic Mexican food for an unbeatable price. This place is a MUST try in the Madison area.

It is a super tiny restaurant with very limited seating (about 10 booths/tables) so if it's a busy time you will have trouble dining in. However, they have a highly effective take-out system which is what the majority of their orders are.

When eating in you'll be presented with complimentary chips and salsa. Their salsa is extremely flavorful and has a great spice level.

We ordered the highly rated Chicken Tamales and El Pastor Burrito with Mole- both definitely lived up to the hype. In addition, their rice and beans are so much better than any other place I've tried.

The prices are unmatched and the serving sizes are perfect to leave the restaurant feeling satiated.

The service is great, just be patient when the restaurant gets busy. They have a very limited staff. When you're ready to pay you can walk up to the register.

The parking lot is small but there is street parking in the nearby...

Found this place almost by chance on my latest visit to Madison ,from the outside its hard to tell what it is.I saw no signs advertising a restaurant of any sorts. The place is small with a few booths and tables, the tables and chairs have carved scenery from Puebla a really nice touch imo . The food selection is great 👍🏽 but a bit overpriced (5 bucks for a 8 oz glass of horchata Is way to Rich for my blood) . The food the flavor and the recipes are very authentic like actually authentic lol. Portions are very decent and the salsas flavorful no complaints there ,our waitress was very attentive and quick not a bad spot if you're looking for real authentic Mexican food. On a side note I noticed that there were a bunch of signs that prohibited students during weekdays or something along those lines so that was "peculiar" .
