I went to Gamer’s Paradise a couple months back with a ps2, stack of basic ps2 games, and two hard to find and highly sought after Gamecube games to sell. I explained that I wasn’t expecting much for the ps2+games but knew that the GameCube games were worth some money. I had spent a week or so searching current market value, including what each had sold for in the past 1-2 months. It was Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness and SuperMario Strikers, both with the cover art and inserts, minimal usage wear on the discs. I waited for over an hour for two guys in the back, who I never saw, to test the games and ps2. I was first offered $60 for all of it via the younger guy working out front. I told him I wasn’t interested in that offer and he asked what I would want because the guys in the back were very interested in the Gamecube games. I told him the prices I had seen online and that I wanted close to that, obviously less so they would have room to make money, but close to. He came back after talking to the guys in the back and offered me $80. I declined again, telling him i would be better off to sell them online. He told me that the guy in the back said, “just because they’re posted for sale for that much doesn’t mean they’re selling for that much.” I took my things and left. I sold both games for $270 in less than 12 hours after posting. It felt to me like they were trying to pull one over on me. And the condescending comment about how much they’re posted for vs selling for was completely unwarranted. I had specifically done research based on copies in the same or similar condition that had already sold. A friend of my husbands recommended this place and told him they’d give top dollar. Apparently this isn’t true for women or whatever “type” they decided I was that made it okay to talk down to me without even showing their own faces and act like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I would have loved to shop here but I won’t step foot back in this place.

An absolute gem of a store! Tucked away in Madison, Alabama is a treasure trove of goodies at Gamers Paradise. Inventory: 5/5 - Great selection of current and classic video games, as well as a huge inventory of replica weapons/props, plush toys, and memorabilia. Value: 4/5 - Most prices are right around current market value. You might not find too many crazy deals, but you definitely won't get ripped off. Location: 4/5 - This shop is a little hard to find from the main road. However, once you're inside, the organization and store layout is absolutely top notch! Overall: 5/5, especially due to their wide selection of gaming collectibles and fun extras like gachapon machines and cold drinks. If I ran a local game store, this is exactly the kind of vibe I'd try to achieve. Will definitely be back!

—Response to the Response of the Owner!— Get another system in place you won’t stay afloat with this system you have! Treat people with humility and respect, and work with your local community! After all they are the ones that keep your store alive, and as I before hand mentioned I won’t be returning I employ people to look other places. And if that is your policy (FINE, who am I to tell you how to run your store)BUT PLEASE be 100% honest with customers, print your ENTIRE policy on your receipt have a sign at the cash registers where customers CLEARLY can see it! Feel like I was swindled by shoddy car salesman on commission with all the surprises after the fact when I can’t do anything with no way out.

I brought some games for an older system that I would play, I used some store credit and cash to pay for my transaction. Turns out the system I had looked awful on my newer TV. So i just decided to scrap the ideal, I really wanted to exchange for something else inside the store. However, "They don't do returns" so if didn't work out for the customers they are just out of luck. The associate said it was called "Renting A Game" no where on the receipt did it say anything about "Renting Games" or Non- Refund policy. So it ended in basically trading in the games and i didn't even get half of what i used when I brought the games. Then on-top of that the very item that I wanted to do the exchange/purchase was more expensive then it was at Gamestop by like $5. I walked away especially because of that sketchy "Return policy" and purchased the same item at one of listed stores below for $25 cheaper and the very games I wanted to return here covered my entire purchase. I thought places like this were suppose to be better than Gamestop, where a customer could get a deal or a break from the what franchises do to customers. They have have gone to a trade in system like gamestop, with maybe $1 or $2 difference. And at least Gamestop has a "Standard" 7 Day return policy, compared to a "Special Circumstances" 3 Day Policy if hasn't changed again by the time of this listing. I wouldn't recommend this place, There are two other retro gaming stores in Huntsville that don't pull antics like this. Gamers World (South Mem) and Rocket City Arcade (University). I employ you to try these others out before stepping foot into...

14 days ago, my girlfriend and I went in to gamers Paradise to sell a Pokemon XD Platinum edition console with all wiring accessories including the adapter to hook up the game console since it is so old to a new smart television system. We also had paper Mario the Thousand-Year door game and case with the console. Upon entering one of the sales staff took the console and game to the back to check to make sure the console and game work properly as we are waiting for the 10 to 15 minutes that it took we browse the store. When the sales clerk motions us back to the counter he said everything checked out great everything plays the way it should there are no issues with a console or game he then offered $100 to buy both console and game. I declined because upon inspection online the game itself was being sold for $100 or more.the console without the extras was being sold for between 85 dollars and $150 so I felt that $100 was a low ball offer. Upon leaving we chose to give it a few weeks to see how anything would go. We watched closely eBay and Amazon to see the gaming console and game to fluctuate and they did not. So today on August 9th 2021 between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. my girlfriend goes back into the store to see if the offer was still valid or if it had changed.most stores are willing to go up a little bit to sweeten the deal per se. Gamers Paradise did not they chose to lower their price to $70 for console and game when asked why the gentleman had stated that the game disc was too far scratched and must be resurfaced. The game and console had not been re hooked up or played since our first conversation 14 days prior from today so the scratches that were there are the exact same ones they were there 14 days ago. Due to inconsistencies and the feeling of being swindled I will not step foot into gamers Paradise nor will I give a good review too gamers Paradise. I also will not recommend gamers Paradise as a quality gaming store due to this situation. It is in my belief that once you make an appraisal on an item it is only right that you stick by that appraisal. Apparently gamers Paradise does not believe...
