Surprised by the high ratings. The service at Vitense is really, quite awful. We've gone at various times of the day, different days of the week, because it's really the only option of it's kind in Madison. Each time, minus one, the service has been so poor, we leave talking about "They could be so good, if only they had good servers" Yesterday, They were a little busy, but not crazy. We were able to get a suite. Waited for 15 minutes to order. After seeing servers pass us numerous times, I finally asked (politely) if there was a server for the suites, to which the server said "She's right there, I'll let her know you'd like some help" Five minutes later, I walked up to the counter, to find our server sitting down. I asked if we could order, the server said "I'm your server, I'll come down" I felt like I was really inconveniencing her. After we'd stopped ordering, and were about done, I was hitting golf balls when I heard her ask if we were done. I said yes, thanks. She then, from 20 feet away, said "your bill is $____, how much do you want to tip me?" We love the facility and that it's a local place, but desperately need service training. ***one note, we did have great service two weeks ago from Will, who genuinely seems to understand great service.
