We had my relatives Funeral Collation gathering here. The food was ok, service was ok, communication was not well. For Head count we were told to give "an estimate" and that the head count would have been asked a multiple times again. We said 40 but were told that it would be estimated again at the end of the service just incase we had less or more people.
This is from the 1st email "Please send over the head count estimation, the minimum guarantee is what I suggest to base on your family and close friends and we set for 20 additional people. Please note we require at least a minimum of 30 people to reserve a room. We also ask you to have the funeral home call us when you are at the cemetery or at the mass/service to let us know how many people are there in case it increases from the range at reservation. We will take another head count once you are back here."
We called to confirm that if we have a big head count and not all showed that they would go with the head count given by the funeral home or 30 count minimum as stated.
We had about 21 people in total so we were prepared to pay for 30 people as final head count was given. Funeral home gave the head count and time of our arrival. Not only did we still get charged for 40 people but they ran out of food after only the first 14 people eat, with only 21 people at our event and we had to ask for more food. (They stated in the email that they provided for 20 additional guests) the food was dry and looked and tasted Pre cooked maybe a day before or was previously frozen. The Sausages were extremely dry. Chicken was tough, broccoli was over heated and the dish was extremely oily.
Also, not once did Megan or anyone tell us that we couldn't pay for the tip with our total. My poor family was trying to figure out what was going on? Not only was our total almost $1,400 for 21 people but now a additional $200+ dollar tip was requested cash and we didn't bring cash. It was a complete mess. The communication of payment options wasn't well addressed and we feel like we got charged $300 more than needed for the head count amount. Plus an additional $200 to put tableclothes on the tables and removel of said tableclothes for 4 tables. Which is a complete rip off.
After everything our family experienced that day with our grief now we had to add everyone got the runs after eating the foods. It was completely embarrassing and a awful experience. Never again. This place has lost their touch and their concerns about feeding people under quality foods.

Read moreI've only been here in their function rooms. They do have a lounge but I've never been to it. The function rooms are pretty nice. Nothing to fancy. I would say the decor could be updated a little but it's a clean place. The food provided is fair, and the staff is nice. There is a good size parking lot so parking is easy and free. The location is good. It's not to far from route 93, route 60, and route 16. The Malden train/bus station is nearby also. I would use this venue...
Read moreI went to a beautiful fundraiser that raised money for children in El Salvador. This is my second time at this fundraiser I went last year as well. The food was good. We had chicken broccoli ziti, steak tips, rice pilaf with vegetables, rolls and salad. They also had a really good stocked bar. Music was good and dance floor was filled. Great place to rent for a function. Staff from the function hall were...
