Here it comes a long review, but a truly one: I lived in the Quarrystone for 15 months and the only reason that made me moved out was a little problem that I had in a private sphere. If you are looking for a quiet community to live, you will surely enjoy living in Quarrystone. The experience is amazing from beginning to the end. I still remember the first day that I went to the Quarrystone to see an apartment in November 2017, in that day I met with Jean, she was an amazing host and made feel totally comfortable. I had in my mind “I want to live here”, she helped with all the paperwork and answering all the questions (even the stupid ones LOL), but she wasn’t alone, in that time Karissa was working there, another amazing girl that was always smiling and helping with everything. And of course I couldn’t forget Jaimei, she was always helping with everything that we needed. That girls are amazing! Also the guys that works in the maintenance are very attentive and helpful, always trying to do what was possible to make everything perfect for each person that lives at Quarrystone. If you have a dog that’s a perfect place for you, totally dog friendly and your friend will not be alone, there is a lot of dogs in the building, and even if you don’t have one you’ll have fun with them walking on Sunday morning. The summer at Quarrystone is always sunny, the pool is awesome and always clean, the barbecue area is great for Sunday morning and surely you’ll enjoy a lot! The gym is a complete gym, you don’t need anything else, there you’ll do your work out and them get ready for you day. The lounge area! That’s another great thing, if you want to celebrate your birthday or just want to receive some friends for a party, that’s a very good option and you don’t need to pay any money for use it. In the building they also have a meeting room and studies room available, a small library with Apple computers, printer and free Starbucks coffee. The apartment is really good and clean, high ceilings and big windows with lots of natural light, a very good kitchen with good appliances and wash and dry machine inside the unit. In there you’ll pay for water, gas and sewer, but it’s okay, in 15 months my utilities bill never came more than $ 160, which is a very good price for a 2 bedrooms apartment, by the way, it’s a very good size bedrooms. They also have lots of parking spaces, the cover one I believe that will cost $70 per month and the uncover $35, if you really hate to clean you car after a snow storm the first is the best option, otherwise, it will not change you life. Attached to the building has a Convenience Store, they sell a little bit of everything in there, if your soap runs out during your laundry time, you’ll find it there, if you’re receiving some friends and forgot to buy a wine or beer, you’ll also find in there. After living 15 months in the Quarrystone community I had a very good feeling about that place, doesn’t matter your culture, religion, sex or your nationality, you’ll be very welcome to Quarrystone, they will treat you as a person and not like a number like in many other places. I definitely recommend Quarrystone and I hope come back to live there soon. They deserve more than just 5 stars, but unfortunately I don’t have the option here. Me and my husband had a very great time in there. Thank you very much for everything for all...
Read more9/27/24 - another update as we approach our 3rd year at Quarrystone: still highly recommend. I love this place more and more the longer I live here. Since my last review, the property gained a beautiful barbecue area, and new furniture in the resident lounge. I have hosted multiple events in the lounge, and my guests are always commenting on how great it is to have that space available. It saddens me to read negative reviews of a place I consider home, and being in this industry myself, I have to say those reviews are not fair and some very exaggerated. To address some: unexpected charges and rent changing all the time - simply not true. Your base rent is locked in for the duration of your lease, which is a legally binding contract and can’t change just like that. Residents are notified well in advance before lease expiration and given a new offer. Residents can decide to move after lease term is up, if the offer doesn’t work for them. No one is forcing them to stay. Water and sewer are billed monthly, which is disclosed to applicants before signing the lease. That amount will change based on usage. The management team has zero control over the meter system. My bill is $130 on average for a 2x2, 3 occupants. Garage: contrary to a negative review I read, the garage is perfectly fine and not falling apart. Management has added charging stations, so there was some construction, understandably. Packages: I order very frequently, and have yet to have had a package missing. Elevators: if they break, they’re fixed quickly. For reference, I manage a building built in 2022 and have major elevator issues. The way the Quarrystone team handles these type of issues is impressive. “They will rent to anyone. Garbage tenants” - by law, all applicants who meet the criteria are and have to be welcomed here, or any other professionally managed property. The management team has zero input, or preference based on personal opinion. This is law and put in place to prevent discrimination.
This is a safe building, well managed, strong sense of community. As I mentioned, I am in the industry and work for another company, yet I choose to live here, because of our neighbors, sense of community and a very well maintained building.
Quarrystone was my last stop while looking for a new apartment, a month ago. I almost canceled my tour but so glad I didn’t. Brenden was my leasing consultant and gave me a very informative tour. I needed lots of closet space and the apartment I was interested in was not ready to be seen, but thanks to Brenden being so knowledgeable I felt super comfortable moving forward with leasing an apartment site unseen. Once in the apartment, I was not disappointed. It has exactly what I needed. Lots of closet and storage space. The interior finishes are also a higher quality than in most luxury apartment complexes; even brand new ones. Great insulation, as well. More importantly, Brenden didn’t just look to lock a lease in and left us stranded once the lease was signed. He is still very responsive and quick to solve problems or have an answer. LOVE LOVE LOVE being here so far… location and amenities are awesome, too!!! All residents we met so far are...
Read moreThe office will do everything in it's power to get you in the door. Once you are there, get comfortable because breaking your lease is not an option. They will charge you two months rent as a penalty, on top of having to give 60 days notice. If you try to go the subletting option, it will cost you upwards of $1,000. 100 per person removed from the lease (e.g. deleting a name), 100 per person added to the lease, (e.g. typing a new name), and some ungodly amount for doing the background check/ new paperwork. All comes to about 1k.
Aside from the normal outrage people in dire situations feels when management won't help them out at all, the management is terrible. They are down right rude. Colleen is in charge, and is proof that the tone at the top (unethical, lazy, condescending) trickles down.
A few examples of their sleazy tactics:
When working in the reservable "office space", I overheard the loud and rude maintenance manager talking down to some residents. Their washer overflowed, and he told them it was their own fault. They they would be liable for the cost of a brand new rug, and some special sealant that needed to be put on the floors prior to a instillation of new carpeting. Pretty sure in any other place, if the equipment malfunctions, they fix it/ do not charge you for it. There as no proof of any malpractice on the tenants fault. Long story short, kiss your security deposit good bye.
It seems like the office is overly upfront with the listing of fees that can be charged upon move-out. Make sure you demand a statement of condition when you move in, and mark down meticulously everything that is not in perfect, pristine condition. The office has no clue what "normal" wear and tear is.
There also may be section 8 housing in this building. There were some more than questionable tenants, who were frequented by the police down the hall from us. Not that all section 8 people are criminals, but these individuals were nothing but trouble. Their electric got shut off, so they were charging their electronics in the hall. For a "luxury" apartment, not too impressed.
My neighbors apartment was broken into. Lap tops were stolen. The funny thing is that the windows were locked, and there was no damage done to the doors/ windows, locks, etc. The office said someone checked out the key but then replaced it as it was for the wrong apartment. Inside job? Well the office never investigated and wrote the check out of their apartment key as a coincidence. Funny how the building manager was replaced two months later.
Also, the new building manager is on a power trip. Avoid him at all costs. He is white-trash and borderline will harass you if he thinks you are...
