House of Style — Attraction in Manasquan

Horrible, horrible

Upon consigning your items, you are told to simply leave the bag at the counter and, "it will be taken care of". .....NOT!. ...

Most of my items were NOT listed under my name so that I was never credited for them. The last time I went in, I was told there was nothing left. As I walked the floor, I found 5 items that were mine. As I found them, I continued to state, "and here's another". Who knows how many I missed.

I asked the owner what happened to my Michael Kors NEW boots and leather bag that I consigned and she, Millie, told me there was no record of these items but that she would do whatever it took to find them and if she couldn't find them, she would take care of it. I Finally got a hold of Millie on one of my many calls and she said, "i am not going to pay for something I can't account for." Millie continually made excuses For not being able to account for items.

Out of 3 bags of items, (probably 25 items), the store accounted for 6 items. I went to the store twice to pick up money on account and was told the computer was down, I had to come back. Or, the owner was sick, the computer wasn't there, etc. When I explained to the owner all the problems I had, she continued to blame everything and everyone.

I am 61 and have lived in many places as we are an aviation family. This is hands down, the worst run business I have ever come into...

BEWARE! You leave all your belongings there without getting a receipt that would indicate what youre handing over and how many items youre leaving at this womans store. This didnt sit well with me since I was consigning a large amount of designer clothing. There were 10 or more items that went missing . She went from really sweet to really nasty upon bringing this to her attention. Of course, I had no proof bc she purposely doesnt provide any. But i made a record of what I brought there. Sadly, I thought the store would be run more professionally because it was in Manasquan. The owner is super shady and the customers shopping there were seedy. This store doesnt belong in Manasquan. House of Style on Manasquan Main Street is by far the most sophisticated consignment shop in the area. The owner and shopkeepers work tirelessly to keep the boutique stocked with new and exciting items, and because they all love fashion are quick to offer advice. My closet & wardrobe are way more stylish because of pieces I have acquired from House of Style. The owner always says the shop has so much to offer because the quality of their consigners is so high. I very much recommend popping in, you never know what...
