The Fleur De Lis Event Center — Attraction in Mandeville

I recently had my wedding here and I want to give my honest review. Let's start with the pros: All inclusive, which was a huge plus for what I was aiming for. 2. The staff was great for the day of, and even assisted me as I had issues with the dress bustle. The day felt like such a rush, but the staff was very helpful in making sure we were everywhere we needed to be! This is a great venue. I just wish I would have known then what I know about the venue now (Keep reading) so I can better prepare.

The cons: Upon touring, I was informed of all the decor the venue had for the use for the wedding. I was told it was free of charge, but that was extremely wrong. During the wedding planning process, when I reached out to staff, the way they responded made me feel as if they did not have time to talk with me. They never fully answered my questions, and everyone had different answers to the same question. I literally felt like a burden to the staff during my planning process. The bridal packet. This gave me the most anxiety. The packet was due 3 weeks before the big day. I would have liked it better if you can work on it as you plan, but the packet expires and refreshes after 30 days. Not knowing what information was needed in this packet was my nightmare. One thing that I was super excited for my guests to have was the cake. But I was extremely disappointed when many of my guest told me that they did not even get to have cake. Cake was not put out on a table like normal weddings, but instead, passed around. My maid of honor even said that barely happened. And we were also sent home with more than half of the cake! As we all know, wedding cake is EXPENSIVE. And I was so upset to hear that only a few pieces were being passed (very quickly at that) and then the staff would disappear. (My advice to the venue.... just put the cake on the table! Trust me, people will know where to go, it's cake.) -Not only did people barely get cake, but they barely got the pass arounds. In the agreement, we were told the pass arounds will happen throughout the entire reception. I was a busy bride, but I did not see any. My guests even told me that it was passed for 20 minutes in the beginning, but that's it. The DJ: Heads up to anyone putting suggested songs on the packet... either make your own playlist in the order you want or pay for a good DJ. I did not feel like he listened to what I wanted during our phone conversation, as I asked him not to play generic wedding songs (I used to work in the industry and it was overplayed) and he ended our wedding with the most generic wedding song: Shout. I am sorry, but I feel like I could have done better with a Spotify Playlist. This deserves a number. The mother of the groom (who paid for basically the ENTIRE bill) was cut off from the open bar. 30 minutes into the reception, someone on the dance floor ran into her, knocking her drink on the ground. I had both my rehearsal dinner at the FDL private restaurant and our wedding ceremony/reception at Fleur De Lis Event Center's Pontchartrain Ballroom and both were amazing! Mr. Chad and his team brought our dream day to life! From the start till the end, they were responsive and very helpful. They also answered all my crazy questions and made the whole process seem so easy. I started planning the wedding a year in advance and everything was so worth it in the end and was executed perfectly! I could not have done it without FDL's team. Our guests keep talking about how beautiful everything was and how "it was the best and most beautiful wedding they've ever attended in a while” Videos and pictures were the proof but even they do not do the event justice. It was a magical night for us and everyone who attended. When you tour the Fleur De Lis Event Center venue for the first time, you will fall in love with it: the ballrooms and their starry ceilings, the spacious and lit courtyards, the team/cast members, the packages, the ambiance, the decor, the food/drinks, and the pricing. Mr. Chad was the best officiant my husband and I could have asked for; he made guests laugh and lightened up the mood. Our bridal coordinator Kendra was amazing as well as her team and they followed what I wrote and wanted in my wedding packet to the T. The DJ was in-house too and he was absolutely great and kept everyone entertained the whole time. Everyone will take care of you and take care of everything for you at Fleur De Lis Event Center. You will be in very good hands and I definitely recommend Fleur De Lis Event Center for any event and especially for your big day. We loved every second of our wedding at Fleur de Lis Event Center, and I wish I could re-live it again! Our guests were SO satisfied with the venue, service, and food and we continue to get praise over how much people loved our wedding (us included! We had a blast!) The food especially--our huge Cajun families love to eat, and they were incredibly satisfied. Our personal dinner was fabulous and much needed! That moment of peace between the ceremony and the reception was so special!

Our ceremony (performed by Chad from Fleur de Lis) was beautiful. We appreciated how personal it was and appreciated the religious touches and the beautiful words you chose. Often ceremonies seem generic, but ours was certainly personal and catered to us!!! We will never forget that moment.

Kendra (our coordinator) and her assistant were BLESSINGS to me the day of the wedding. I never worried about anything, and that is a feeling so many brides never experience. From helping me pin my dress up when my bustle failed to work to always putting a drink in my hand AND of course the TWO BOXES of the delicious crab rangoon they sent me home with because I loved them. AND the surprise sparkler send off!!!! And that's not even the half of it. I was so lucky to have the two of them!
