Goodnow House State Historic Site — Attraction in Manhattan

I’m not much of a history buff, but I love visual history- especially infrastructure! The house was very cute and we were enjoying our visit, but it was kind of disappointing to learn that the state of the house is not the original… The house was used as OLD college student rentals before it was turned into a historic site. August 28, 2024 Goodnow House State Historic Site and Riley County Historical Museum. The Goodnow House is a historic two-story stone house. It was built in 1857 in the Plains Vernacular style. From 1861 Isaac Goodnow and his wife, Ellen lived in the house. Goodnow was an abolitionist and co-founder of both Kansas State University and Manhattan. 28 August 2024.

The best part about it was the Indian artifacts. Not a very big place however does allow you to take photos. Wasnt to impressed with the staff as far as wanting to talk and show you around.
