This is a hip coffee shop and at night the other half is a great bar with artisanal cocktails. My favorite coffee is the house drip or cold brew- really packs a punch. Can't wake up? Brian fog? get one of those! I have gone here for years and still miss the old Arrow with wooden interior and more comfortable chairs. That said - The coffee here is outstanding and they have a superb selection of foods including egg burritos for breakfast. My favorite baked goods are the lavender shortbreads and macaroons. The outside seating is also amazing with choices all around and upstairs. The only downside is this: inside chairs are metal and cold and uncomfortable if you are maybe over 30 and over 110lbs. The coldness is probably worse than the lack of cushions. Molded wood is just better. Also on about 4 (FOUR!!! in 2020) occasions on a Sunday I have gone here at 1 or 2.45 and it was just closed including yesterday 11.8.20). It is supposed to be open until 3pm but now we worry if it will be open since it is just not reliably open on Sundays. Maybe they need to just get someone else to work that shift ;) On the upside more things to like - they also have a great point program and did I say their food is amazing? Great brunch place. But no cocktails at brunch - so no mimosas folks but that is ok. They have tap water that you can help yourself from and they do not make you leave so if you want to work for hours - you can (if your butt is ok with that!). It is usually full of students and professors.Kids love this place too. Other favorite food (not sure if they still have it) - rye toast with a hole in it that contained an egg! If you guys ever redecorate - bring back darker wood or invest in some comfortable wooden...
Read moreGreat cafe shop here. Parked right outside of the campus of K-State in Manhattan, Kansas. Parking is in the back.
There is enough space inside to have your own cubby. There is a spot to have a meeting. There is more than enough room sitting outside. Tables and chairs are everywhere. Mask are also available when you enter. Taking all COVID-19 protocols for those vaccinated and not.
You walk in and just wowed by the decor. Then they greet you immediately. Super polite and friendly. They are gonna answer whatever questions you have about their establishment.
I personally always want to know what the locals eat. Christina told me what the deal was and suggested a latte for the ages. Pro Tip: The best coffee advice you can get is from someone who believes in being caffeinated. The art in the cup. She pours it like no other. You know I had to sample them baked goods. I let her pick me up. The homemade pop tart.
So I took my pop tart(first timer) and found a quiet place in the back of the café. Not long after, Christina showed up with my Breakfast Burrito and my 100 Acre Latte. She's a ROCKSTAR!!!
The Burrito, with their salsa, hit the spot. That latte put me in a tale spin. The pop tart blew my mind. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised 😮!!!!
I have nothing bad to say. But I got the invite to come back for cocktails later. Only if I drank. Anytime is the right time at the...
Read moreI appreciate the attention to detail offered at this local Manhattan shop! The coffee is great, as is the service. I regular this shop, so many of the employees know my name and call me by name which is always appreciated. I normally get espresso drinks, which are always great, and the pour-over coffee is incredibly flavorful and bright. the atmosphere could be better, although, and any personal conversations are sometimes unable to have due to how easily voices carry throughout the space - not much privacy (one could easily eavesdrop on a personal conversation). The food, while being very delicious, is a bit pricey. I would be much quicker to buy food here if the price was a little bit more reasonable. The coffee drinks may be pricey to some as well, but I think the coffee is a fair price. All in all, this is a great little shop! It is absolutely worth noting the atmosphere change as the back "lounge" area opens up at 4 pm, adding an element to the shop that I like a lot more than when the back area is closed. Definitely my favorite place in Manhattan, and I would absolutely recommend...
