We have lived in this area for 2 years, and this is the only theater here. I became accustomed to the excellent service I received at Cinemark and the Movie House Eatery. The service at ShowBiz is very lacking. It is mostly high school aged kids working here, which I have no issues with. The issue I have is when they are not trained to be professional, wait on paying customers, and be polite and friendly. This is a direct reflection on the management.
I recently went to a movie and there were issues with the sound in the theater. You could hear music but none of the character dialogue. The movie, including previews, was restarted once. Everything worked normally until the actual movie started, and it was back to no sound for dialogue. This dragged on for the first 10 minutes of the show. I finally got up to report the issue. I found the manager on duty and informed him of the issue. He rudely told me, " I already know!" A more appropriate response would have been, "I'm so sorry sir. We are working to resolve the issue. Thank you for letting me know." The manager was walking toward our theater when a handicapped man in an electric wheelchair came out of the theater. He too engaged the manager and tried to tell him about the sound issue. The manager interrupted him and said, "I know!"
Now people are entitled to bad days, so I thought maybe this was what happened; the manager was just having a bad day, because he did give us 2 readmission tickets as we left the theater at the end of the movie. He still wasn't friendly but gave us the tickets.
However, I took my family to the movie today, Thanksgiving Day. The high school aged clerks we're actually very friendly. I presented my 2 readmission tickets from my last bad experience, and the clerks were not sure how to process them. They called a manager, and guess who showed up, Mr. Friendly. The same manager came over, and the female clerk politely held up the readmission tickets and told the manager she wasn't sure how to process them. The manager, in front of a line of customers, told her, " you didn't need to call a manager. You could've just asked Jim." I determined Jim was the older clerk working the other register, but he had a line of customers as well. Now shame on me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the manager's job to support employees, answer questions, and help them solve problems?
As we purchased some snack bar items and before we walked away from the counter, I thanked the female clerk for working on Thanksgiving and told her I was sorry she could not be with her family.
Way to support your employees Mr. Manager...If there was another theater around, I would never come back...
Read moreWent to see godzilla tonight 4/13 9:40 showing. Movie itself was beneath expectations and that is fine, I expected low but not even a full verse godzilla theme was like the rock kicked for me...
To make the experience worse... and i swear this happens to me every single time I go... were the kids in the back row... loud as heck before the movie started and i debating changing seats... should have, they got quiet for a bit but every fight scene they were literally yelling. I didn't bother to walk away, I am already mostly deaf, but this is an experience that happens EVERY TIME I GO. Since before this has become cinergy, this has been our one theater and it seems to attract the least cultured and respectful people, it is insane. From vaping, to inappropriate public displays of affection, to theater hoping bums, it is literally always something at this place. It seems like there is no standard set here for compliance in noise policies and theater culture, and it has truly sank in on the community.
Sound in film cut out entirely for a few seconds at the first on screen introduction to skar king.
No one seems to have checked the theater during showing at all whatsoever.
At the end of the film between the theater and the exit there was not a single staff member to be found to discuss any of these issues.
I saw someone post about alamo drafthouse rules, and those people have a standard, and manage to fill their theaters.... One thing they do that I recommend is kid hours and no kid hours... even if it takes place every other night, or once or twice a week. give us like a no under 16 or something, thataway those of us who just want some peace and quiet can come in without the risk of a bad experience... i kid you not, it is every single time I go, some type of insanity in the theater that never once gets checked...
Furthermore, being at a night filming and walking in as cinergy for the first time and not seeing at least a few high or well placed cameras on the parking lot makes me concerned about parking my vehicle during the duration of the film.
Can't say I'll be back. rather afford the expense and quality increase of trekking to austin for the...
Read moreI've been to this theater many times over the last 15 years, this is my first review! Fun!
Pros: Comfortable seats, tons of leg room! Being in the small town of Marble Falls means it's rarely crowded. I come from Johnson City (30 min away). Prices are pretty good! $11 for an adult, sometimes $9, kids are cheaper.
Cons: I'm not sure why but they took the self serve kiosks away, which is really frustrating when you just want to pop in and get your tickets and not stand in the concession line your tickets with all the other people. Last night (July 26) was the opening night for Deadpool & Wolverine and the line was probably 60 people long. We were seeing Despicable Me 4 and I didn't want to wait 20 minutes to get tickets, so I bought them on my phone (+$4.50 convenience fee for 2 tickets) and just walked into the theater. Later I went back to get snacks and waited about 5 minutes.
The bathrooms are horrendous. One of the stalls has the door completely missing. Many of the hooks for your purse are gone. Toilet paper dispensers are hanging off the walls and as of last night (July 26th) only 2 of the 4 sinks to wash your hands was working.
I am a fair handy person and I would seriously be able to fix these obvious things in...
