I’m not entirely sure on how this place is so well rated. My family and I ate here just last night around 6:30. It was not busy—a few patrons at the bar and maybe three tables taken altogether. We are a family of five with two kids, so not terrible to service.
Upon walking in, we had no idea if we seated ourselves or waited to be shown to a table. There is no sign stating this nor was there anyone at the front to tell us. We finally get told by a fairly annoyed waiter to seat ourselves.
It took quite some time for chips and salsa to come out along with the same waiter to take our order. He was very rude when addressing anyone at the table, seeming annoyed by our presence. One of the kids asked if they had quest and he replied yes, we asked for some to be brought out. He did not warn anyone that the salsa was beyond edible with how hot it was, and we can handle hot salsa. When the queso was brought out none of us could eat it because of how spicy it was as well. The chips were so greasy the were shining.
We ordered our food, after waiting for around fifteen minutes for our waiter once again, and when one of us asked for only rice on the side, he acted as if he didn’t understand what we were asking for.
Our food arrived in segments, there was about a ten minute wait for a kids chicken nugget plate with fries(they don’t really enjoy Mexican food) and the fixings for chicken fajitas to come out. By the time the fixings for the fajitas was out the dinner itself was cold. The chicken was extremely bland and over cooked. There was no sour cream or cheese on the fixing plate, and only two small flour tortillas were in the holder.
The waiter did not come back to the table to check in. We had to ask for refills on our drinks and ask for cheese for tacos/fajitas.
Two of the five have had upset stomachs the next day.
I do not recommend it. In fact, I would recommend something like Chili’s before I...
Read moreDecided to come here Sunday after church about 1. Restaurant was not busy. Keep in mind, we are a family of 7 so I know servers internally cringe when we walk in. We waited at the door for a few minutes as there was no hostess or signage to tell us otherwise. A gentleman finally approached us and asked us to sit wherever. We chose a table on the 9n the upper level as they had bigger tables. The waiter brought 3 menus for 7 people. Ok we can share, no big deal. We sat at our table for 10 mins before a different waiter came to take our drink order. He brought the drinks relatively quickly. We ordered our food and requested chips and queso as another family came and sat down. They were immediately served drinks and chips and salsa. It was 15 mins between the time the first plate of our food was brought to the table to the last. Our last plate came out with the tables next to us food. Our waiter checked on our table once the entire time we were there, never refilled our drinks, or brought our ticket. Overall bad service. The only redemptive thing is the food was pretty good. Not enough to make it stand out from the other restaurants in town, or to make up for the service...
Read moreI'll be honest, the first time I came here, I did not think I would like it. The interior comes off a bit unpolished in atmosphere so I was expecting average food, at best. I was wrong! This place, in my opinion, is a major diamond in the rough for Marble Falls.
I've discovered my favorite dish of all time, and it's the "Nachos Lucy". White queso, beans, and ground beef. Simple, I know, but this queso is amazing and if you love nachos, you gotta try them. I always get a side of sour cream. I eat it until I can't eat anymore, then I'm sad that I can't eat any more. Over the following days, I bide my time until it's been enough time in between visits to bring everyone back to El Jimador so I can have more of those nachos. My coworkers love the flautas and enchiladas as well!
Also, the Margaritas are A+ and CHEAP. I like the big blue one.
The staff have always been welcoming and kind and responsive to requests. Can't wait until next time I get to go back for my Nachos!
