This place is amazing! I have stayed here several times and am never let down. I used to camp in their tent section, but they have since converted it to a glamping area and I am so glad they did! The park is located close to the 1, but there is only so much you can do about that because the 1 is so coastal...prime beach access means you need to be next to the 1. It is what it is. The actual resort is very well kept and the bathrooms are really nice and even heated in the mornings! The staff is always so helpful, friendly and a pleasure to work with. They go above and beyond to make your experience special and effortless. The new glamping sites are incredible and well worth the money. They come stocked with wood, towels, toiletries and the bed is SOOO comfortable. The proximity to Monterey and Santa Cruz can't be beat. Well worth the money!

Our experience was outstanding. As a disclaimer we were put in the brand new section which is choice. Pavers so you really don't need a rug and it's big for keeping out the dirt and sand. Hookups were fine. Shower was hot and free. General store, laundry and so on. Facilities were great. You're pretty close to the ocean by foot or if you can find a parking spot the state park entrance on the way in to the park is instant access to the beach. If you take the dogs its the foot path only and while you can drive down to the entrance it's a fair distance to the beach. I really found no flaws. Your mileage may vary and I can't speak to the original location 100 yds away from the section we stayed at but it was definitely more children and lots of them so for us, we probably would have had a slightly diminished experience.

The park is nice and the grounds are well kept. My complaint is how close the camp sites are against Hwy 1 which makes it loud. The back of my camper was approximately 100 feet from the freeway. The noise from the freeway is loud and not peaceful. In my opinion, it is way over priced for the small campsites and how loud it is. We paid over $160.00 per night. During our trip, we stayed in much nicer locations for significantly less. The good: It is close to the beach and approximately 20 minutes from Monterey Aquarium. There is a small playground for the kids and a play room/"club house" that has a TV and other games inside. There is a laundry facility, clean bathrooms with showers. The facility is nice but over priced. Overall, I would recommend finding another location further away from the freeway for the price.

If I could leave a 0, I would. READ THIS REVIEW!!!!!

This was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. Due to the storm, power for the entire street, including their RV site, was down for several days. Even knowing this, we decided to keep our reservation and stay. We had paid FULL PRICE for the use of the hookup ups, but never once used them because there was no power. Upon our first night, the camp hostess decided to drive over and get nosy in our business for no reason....nonetheless we let it go and moved on with our day. The real issue came with our check out and the AWFUL customer service I received from the old woman behind the desk.

I went in to see about getting a partial reimbursement since we paid for FULL HOOKUPS but were unable to use them the ENTIRE LENGTH OF OUR STAY. My husband and I felt that since we essentially tent camped and used none of the perks we paid for, we should pay the tent camping rate and not the rate that we paid for hook ups. A significant difference in price, but I was not asking for a total refund because we did stay there. I don't feel like this was a huge stretch or an unreasonable request.

After politely explaining myself, the awful woman behind the desk said "I understand that you didn't get to use the hookups, but the power outage was not our fault... the best I can do is give you a TEN PERCENT refund"..... just so its clear when reading this, thats less than $20.00 total..... we paid $95.00 a night.... Tent camping costs $50.00

I then told her that was unfair because we didn't get to use anything (electric, water, sewer, etc) for our RV and therefore we shouldn't have to pay for what we didn't get to use..... The woman then decides to start ARGUING with me and gets incredibly defensive, condescending and down right RUDE. I was so shocked at the way I was treated. Then told me she would "talk to the owners" because she was told by them, that 10% was the best that she was allowed to do. I told her that wasn't going to work and I wanted the partial refund in writing before we left., as we live four hours away. She then asked for my last name and when I told it to her, she ROLLED HER EYES and (Im not making this up) goes "oh _ yah we know you..." I WAS FUMING! I asked her if she had something to say about us, and she looked shocked and then said she had nothing to say......

LIKE OH MY GOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?! WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS MARINA DUNES RV?!

After arguing about that for a while (LIKE HELLO WHY ARE WE ARGUING WITH A CUSTOMER ABOUT THEM NOT PAYING FOR A SERVICE THEY NEVER RECEIVED). She then said that they best she could do was charge us $65 per night.... THAT WAS STILL THE PRICE FOR PARTIAL HOOK UPS.... AGAIN WE NEVER GOT TO USE OUR HOOKUPS..

Finally she freaked out on me (hands flying in the air) and told me that "she was not going to argue with me anymore" and that she would charge me for the cost of tent camping plus tax....

I am absolutely appalled at the types of people that Marina Dunes RV resort allows to represent them, and how those people treat their customers. It's not as if we used their facility, had access to all the things I mentioned above and then demanded a refund.

We will NEVER stay there again, the shear level of disrespect and lack of basic customer service is astonishing. This place should be...

Way too expensive. The older portion of the RV park is great, there are trees which create a nice sound barrier from the nearby highway, however there is no guarantee that your site will be assigned to the nicer, older area. There is a newer portion of the park below. It is clean, the bathrooms are nice, but it is a good distance from most of the amenities listed on the site. There does not appear to be any sort of gate or pathway between the older and newer portions of the RV park, which makes accessing any of the amenities cumbersome, with the exception of the bathrooms and showers in the newer portion of the park. There are no trees to create a barrier from the nearby highway noise in the new portion of the park and the highway noise makes it difficult to carry on a conversation outside. The highway also makes for an unappealing view. While it is a all the same RV park, the two areas are a different experience. The newer area was not for me, and our family did not enjoy it as much. It seems that maybe with such a difference in the quality of the two different areas that there should possibly also be a difference in price? Or maybe people could pick which area they would prefer. If there is any chance that our site could be assigned to that parking lot type experience again in the newer Rea of the park, then I will not be back. That is not really what I am looking for when I go to the coast and pay that much for a site. We also had to move our truck multiple times so that people could back into their sites. This was not because our truck in any way protruded from the boundaries of our site, it was simply because the sites were so close together that it made it difficult for people navigate the...

Our recent visit to Thousand Trails Marana Dunes has truly set a new standard for our camping experiences. From the moment we arrived, the cleanliness and overall appeal of the site were immediately apparent, distinguishing it significantly from other Thousand Trails locations we've visited.

Despite having a camping pass with an add-on to book Encore resorts, it's impossible to secure due to membership constraints. But Marana Dunes was so exceptional that we didn't hesitate to pay full price for our stay. And it was worth every penny!

What made our stay particularly memorable was not just the amenities but the people. The staff and fellow campers were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location itself is to die for. It's across the street from beach access, and it offers the perfect blend of convenience and natural beauty. The RV lots are private, providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility, which is a rare find. I felt so safe and comfortable at all times of the day and night! Additionally, the bathrooms were spotless, providing an extra layer of comfort during our stay.

Thousand Trails Marana Dunes stands out as a prime example of a great vacation. Its combination of excellent facilities, remarkable cleanliness, and a friendly community, not to mention its unbeatable location, makes it a destination we'll undoubtedly return to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-tier...
