Spend thousands of dollars in this store every year for our apartments, I think the least we or any one else deserves is good customer service and people who know their job. The cabinet department screwed up special ordered the wrong cabinet, took over an hour to get them to get the right one, then they didn’t give us correct paperwork to get out of yard, no one helping fix the problem, had to walk all the way across the yard and through the store to service desk which still took another 30 minutes to get more wrong papers only to be prevented from leaving the yard a second time because of their screw up that no one was trying to help fix, we spent 2 1/2 hours with a loaded trailer in the yard before we could finally get out, the cabinetry department is poorly ran and new employees are poorly trained and customer service is horrible, I spent 20 minutes at the paint counter waiting for help and finally had to hunt someone down only to wait another 20 minutes for them to mix a 5 gallon of white paint because obviously the young guy working alone had no clue what to do. We do lots of business here but I can no longer take to constant mistakes and lack of customer service and always having to hunt someone down for help. They need better control over their department managers but especially in cabintry, I don’t recommend ordering kitchens through there unless you want to deal with a head ache and I guarantee John the manager will not help you because he makes just as many mistakes as the new guys that are poorly trained do but at least they have a reason. I honestly have to say that at least 3 out every 4 visits always ends...
Read moreWe needed a specific material and color for our project. Our local store in Wausau didn't have the J-trim product we needed. It was on back order... Ironically, the Marshfield location DID have it, but they refuse to transfer between stores. Our contractors were expecting this product with the delivery of the rest of the materials and therefore has a timeline to keep to. So, we ordered the material from the Marshfield location and paid our contractor to pick it up. This incurred extra cost. The order was pulled and all he had to do was pick up our order. Upon unloading and unpackaging at our house, we realized they pulled the WRONG COLOR. Our ticket clearly stated SLATE. We were given TAN. Again- we live over an hour from this location. I called to see if they could deliver to us the CORRECT material. He said they don't do that. I said it wasn't my fault they pulled the wrong thing. He found a sales rep who could bring it late in the week. Talking to our contractors, they were already waiting and couldn't let the whole week go waiting for it. I called back and said we would have to pay for the contractor to come get it right away. Could they offer a discount or Menards gift card for the extra cost and time of their mistake. I spoke with Spencer the GM at the Marshfield store. He flat out REFUSED to do anything. I again explained the additional time and cost for this mistake. He said he apologizes but will not be doing anything to compensate. I am appalled by this customer service, and everyone should be aware that they don't give a darn about how they treat...
Read moreI almost never write negative reviews, but my experience here was just unbelievable. I got a yard slip for a roll up door at the contractor desk, paid for the item, then went out to pick it up. There was no door to be found, as something else had been put in its place. The yard worker said he would look for it. Since I had other plans this afternoon, I had to leave and try again later. I called the store later to check the status of this door. When I finally got through after being on hold for awhile, I was informed that they did not have the door, and since I paid in cash, the only option is to come back in person for my refund. The only problem is that I live an hour away and the store is now closing for the night. So now I have to come all the way back on my own dime to get my money back for their mistake. The fact that they can't do a digital refund, transfer my order to another store, or have someone stick around 10 minutes after close so i can get my refund the same day just blows my mind. This door is in stock at almost every other menards in the state. I never got an apology or even a hint of concern from the associates I spoke to about this.
