I brought my cards here to try and sell them.
When i brought them in, they put my cards in one of their small boxes, out of mine. I signed a sheet and they said it should be done by next week. 5 days goes by, 2 were weekend days, and I called and the guy on the phone said probably another week.
I kind of laughed a little and mentioned what they said. He then says, "i know who your speaking about, they will be getting in trouble." I said, "No, they were very nice and helpful. Its fine it isn't done yet." He responded with, "no its not okay and they need to be trained."
Awkward conversation to have with a customer.
They called me today and gave me an offer I decided against. I come in and they grab my cards, The man who talked to me said he understands why I dont want to sell them the cards. (Due to low offer). He gets the box and says "Hmm there are sticky post its on several." I look at at him. He starts pulling them off my cards, that did not have sleeves on because they took them off. He then said, "Luckily it looks like the dollar ones" I stare at him because its my property your destroying, regardless of monetary value. Then you see that they put stickies on higher end cards. And you see him kind of look distressed. He finds the first employee near by, and says, "Did you do this? You can not be putting sticky notes on cards." Then looks at the box to see who went through my cards and I suppose it wasn't the man he just yelled at because he then said, "I'll be talking to them."
He then says "well this is our box. So." And I grabbed my cards and it was awkward and it was very unprofessional. Possibly damaged my cards. Tells me to come back in anytime.
My problems are here: You tell me one Estimated time vs. Another.
You tell me, a customer, that you're going to yell at and punish the three employees who helped me.
You give a low low low offer. (Which is whatever, I know how card shops work.)
You potentially damage my cards.
You yell at another employee who may of had zero to do with it.
You dont apologize, in fact you say at least its more of the dollar ones. But dollars add up.
You take back the box you made me put my cards in vs. The box i came with.
Half of my cards so not have their sleeves on them, which just so happened to be the ones someone put sticky notes on.
You agree the offer was bad.
Not a fan of this place. Thought it was cool based on the three other employees who originally helped me. But seems like as a team they dont work well.
They dont know how to handle product.
They dont seem to care that they handled product poorly, because why would they? Its not their cards, not their...
Read moreNormally I am happy coming here. I don't play but I buy and sell cards every once in a while. Before today the only slightly bad experience I had was dropping off some cards to sale and when I came back 6 hours later they had forgotten about it but quickly did it.
Today I went in to sell some cards. Someone came up and asked me what I needed. I said I need to sale some cards and I wanted $25 cash and then the rest in trade. He goes do I know the store policy and I said I think so I have been here multiple times before. He then goes well for cash we only give 25% of the value. I said yes I understand that and no problem. He then says they will only do all cash or all trade they won't separate it because it takes to long. If they did it for everyone they would never finish.
He then picks up my cards starts thumbing through them and made a comment about he doesn't know prices that well and he's not sure if I have enough. As he gets to the back where the more valuable cards are he then says ok I have some cards that are valuable. He then states again they will not do part trade and part cash.
I ask if I can do 2 transactions and he tells me no. I understand if someone comes in with 159 cards and says they want half cash and half trade it would take longer and be a headache. I say it's not that hard. You have to price everything anyway and you start at cash and price cards. As soon as that price goes over $25 set it down and start a second pile as trade. He says it's not that easy. No it is actually that easy. I only had about 35-40 cards already unsleaved worth about $270 I was expecting $25 and around $90-100 in trade.
He was rude, condescending, and lazy with me. I have worked in a card shop before. It would take maybe 30 seconds longer to make 2 piles with one as $25+ cash and one pile trade.
I will give them this. The selection is good and the prices competitive with large online card markets I wipp pay 5% extra to get...
Read moreWhen this store first opened the emphasis was on video games, but that has completely changed. Although the store is rather large the game's section only makes up about 1/4 of the space. The rest has been committed to people with questionable hygiene playing Magic the Gathering. Due to the large crowds on weekends it's not an inviting experience to come in to shop for games, as many of them are noisy and leave trash everywhere.
The prices defy logic and are either at eBay's level or higher, with no wiggle room. Selection varies from mediocre to poor, basically anything worthwhile you'd want will cost far more than it should. Trading games and consoles is a frustrating experience as well. Despite being in business for years the store does not have a dedicated computer program to track game values for cash or credit. This is basically what happens: you bring a pile of games in, they check condition, search for some on eBay for price references (hence the high prices) and essentially guess on the others. If you were to bring the same games in on separate days and have separate employees process them you'll get a different amount every time, it's absurd.
The only positive to mention is the employees. They're friendly, helpful and professional so kudos to them. However, I cannot...
