This place is fantastic. People are very nice and professional. You can get great souvenirs for excellent prices. There is ample free parking. There is an admission fee of 50 cents. Many talented local artists. We had the best ice cream- coconut with lime (yummy!). As we were looking at candles, we smelled fresh popping kettlecorn- I"m a popcorn fan and I have to say this was the super best popcorn I ever had. There is a sweet lady who sells baked goods. She sells freshly baked mango bread (loaf), passionfruit bread (loaf) and other items. We just loved her passionfruit bread. All her bread is made with fresh fruits. She was very sweet and her prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend to stop at her booth. There is a $1 booth with some great souvenirs ( 6 items for $5). There are soaps with loofah and these are excellent. Loved for my sensitive skin. Great selections of t-shirts and bags. Tons of souvenirs. There is also local foods there such as Loco Moco. We went early. It gets busy around 930 am. It does get very hot there so earlier is the best. Walking shoes, hat and sunscreen are highly...
Read moreThis is the "it" farmers market, arts and craft market, and flea market on Maui at this moment. It may not be big compared to some of the markets on the mainland, but it's the biggest on Maui. Come here to meet the local farmers and artisans and enjoy a great morning where you'll sure to find something to take home with you. Fresh produce, local flowers, food trucks, shaved ice, and artisan bakers abound in this quintessential Maui market. There is an entrance fee of 50 cents per person. The market is open at 7 am and starts to get busy at about 9:30 am. Be sure to bring water and sun screen with you as it gets pretty hot by 10 am. At 1 pm the market is closed but some vendors pack up and leave by 12 noon if they sell out their goodies. Cash is the easiest method of payment at this market. There is plenty of parking but be careful not to park in the wrong parking lot (one that's right next to the Swap Meet with a security booth - it belongs to the condo building) where you may have to pay $50 to the security guard before they remove the clamp they put on...
Read moreBest Farmers Market on Maui, best produce selection and prices direct from farmers. This is the place for produce if you have time to come on Saturday.
If your looking for gifts there is everything from cheap imports that say "Maui" to very nice items direct from artisans / crafters at lower prices than you would find in the stores (inside tip- this is where stores on Maui come to shop for local items). Cut out the middle man and get the savings yourself. Not uncommon to find the same items in stores around Maui at much higher prices.
Another tip, Maui Swapmeet is not so much like a mainland Swapmeet with used items for sale and such. More of a large framers market and craft fair. If your looking for used items for sale like the mainland this ain't the place for you. You are most likely to find silver sterling jewelry / new items than that 50 year old Hawaiian collectible that had been sitting in...
